I guess we all have a bucket list to some degree. When I was younger I certainly had one.
It was fraught with impossibly hard goals: To be a millionaire race car driver by age twenty, to
climb every mountain in the world, to become the world's biggest rock star...and in my spare
time feed the hungry, comfort the ill, and find a cure for all forms of cancer.

Instead I became a truck driver--my go-cart rusting in a field, not one mountain climbed,
not one cancer cured, and most of the hungry people I feed (or comfort) have the same last
name as I do.

But I've hit middle age now (actually I'm on day number 18,888 as of today) and I've decided
to come up with a realistic bucket list for myself and share it with you. So I sat down
and began to think---What would I like to do that I could actually accomplish?

Turns out the list is quite brief...

My Realistic Bucket List

1. Jump out of an airplane (with a parachute....one that works)
2. Write a novel

That's a very short list eh? But that's it...That's all I could come up with

SO

I offer you...

My Unrealistic Bucket List

1. Be involved in a heist--a BIG ONE. Millions of dollars worth of stuff. All owned by some huge
corporation that's robbing the planet and all the people of the world....

2. Ride a bull....one without horns

3. Fly an airplane (become a pilot)

4. Scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef

5. Write a (best selling) novel

6. Jam with David Gilmore, Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones

7. Slap a dictator....twice....really hard

eta: I would add "Make it with Catherine Zeta Jones" as number eight but she is currently in
a relationship and I just couldn't do that in good conscience....but if she ever broke it off with
Micheal Douglas then she would definitely be going on the list!

So what's on your Bucket List?

You forgot sky diving.

Talk about a rush man.

The minute you do it, you want to do it again.

It's scary the first time.

So do tandom jumps a couple of times before you feel safe doing it on your own.

Ahem, I wouldn't recommend doing it on your own though.

Case you forgot to pull the cord and all.

LOL....Don't worry yourself about me pulling the cord. I'm POSITIVE I could handle that
part very well indeed. And it is on the list. That is something I have always wanted to
do, and I will accomplish that one somehow. The free-fall part is what intrigues me the most.
And I will definitely want to jump alone--no tandem. I couldn't imagine a worse ending to life
that having to hear someone that you're strapped to screaming for three minutes about how
the damn shoot won't open and that you're both going to die

I just love #1 (as long as we give the money to some really needy people) and #7 and will add them to my list which, aside from escaping the matrix, mostly deal with travel to Alaska, Hawaii and Bhutan. Ghost hunting..

Dear rival,

What a great thread for tonight. I am just listening to music and scanning for news articles and now something fun to consider.

Well, I don't have a bucket list. I have been told so many times that I should be dead or could be dead right now and I just don't really care about it. A few years back I was put on very powerful pills and told if I stopped taking them I would probably die immediately. LOL. I stopped taking those pills about 4 years ago. During my divorce we offered to submit my medical records and the judge was informed that it became too ridiculous I would just go out on a disability retirement. The ex was petrified because she knew my condition, she was there when they said that just sitting in a chair I could have a heart attack or stroke, part of the reason she left me, she didn't think I would make it; but, I did.
I can even top it, I had an NDE and almost did die.

I take it back, I do have a bucket list, it is just that I am living it. I go to work, pay my rent, write on my blog, follow current events and try and help others. As for anything special, the only thing I ever wanted to do that I did not was go to Tahiti. If I really wanted to, I could use my credit card and go there; but, I don't feel my life would have been unfulfilled if I never go.

your "unrealistic" list seems pretty realistic to me you just got to have the will to do it.

One thing that is on my bucket list is to get a photo in front of the famous "AREA 51" sign. Just to say I've been there and have the proof to back it up.

This sign here.

I also found it comical that they are in the desert and there is snow.

1. See my daughter
2. See Area 51
3. Shake hands with an Extra Terrestrial

(I know #3 is unrealistic, but the first 2 are the ONLY things on my Bucket List)

The only thing I think I'd have on my bucket list....
I'd want to be able to take as many of them as I could with me, you know the ones who did it to me!

Great thread.

#1 I want to be in a motorcycle high speed chase. One where I don't end up dead in the end. I love driving fast and I think it would be extremely exciting and exhilarating. I have to get my kids raised before I can do this one.

#2 again cycle related. I want to ride to the 4 corners of the continental U.S. in one trip.

In reality I don't have a lot. I'm happy to be raising my kids, working, paying the bills, riding and going to the range on the weekends. I just want to be left alone to enjoy this little niche in life I've dug out for myself.

I have already knocked many items off of my bucket list, some of which are sky diving, zip lining, hiking the lava fields in Hawaii, drinking wine atop the Space Needle, visiting the tunnels beneath Niagra Falls, driving a race car, hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, catching a shark, etc...

A few things I have left on my bucket list include cage diving with sharks, bear hunting in Alaska, visiting the Blue Grotto and swimming there, going on an African safari, kissing my hubby on the top floor of the Empire State Building, going to Canrnival in Rio, and the list goes on...

Oh, and mustn't forget- we want to renew our wedding vows in Las Vegas with an Elvis impersonator officiating. We will be wearing blue suede shoes, of course!
