Hi, I'm godspetrat, and actually this is really just my reintroduction thread. Been away a while working on music...

www.youtube.com...

Got you, didn't I? No really, I did have a conspiracy to discuss, and here it is:

I'm having beer brats on some nice hoagie rolls with sauerkraut tonight. First I need to finish the Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA that I used 3-4 ounces of with some onions to soak the brats in. Yes, I'm getting a little lit, and that is why I'm formally introducing myself, and also it is getting me in the mood to discuss one of my favorite conspiracies, the brat/sausage/hot dog vs. bun conspiracy!

WTF, you say? Just hear me out! Quality brats or Italian Sausage always come in a package size of five. Run of the mill hot dogs? Eight, usually. But the rolls? Always in a package of six; that's right, six! 666! OMG!

Why this discrepancy? The answer is quite simple. I don't tend to believe in the most far out of conspiracy theories, but keep them in mind and am at least entertained by them. One conspiracy I can believe in, however, is $$$. Commercialism. Cui Bono. That's why my idea of hot dogs vs. buns is not as silly as it seems at first.

They want you to keep buying more. The average American eats a lot of hot dogs. How to keep the average American buying hot dogs? Simple: make sure he or she always has too many hot dogs for their supply of rolls, or vice versa! Buy a bag of six rolls and a pack of eight hot dogs. Have a nice American dinner, and you have two hot dogs left. Need to buy more rolls!

Six more rolls and another pack of hot dogs, and you have ten hot dogs and six rolls. Another dinner will leave you four hot dogs without rolls. You can buy another six pack of rolls, but you see where all this will lead. Just tell me, if the American diet isn't one big conspiracy to keep us buying more hot dogs and rolls, why don't they make the number of rolls you get and the number of hot dogs you get the same?

Just something to think about, and probably all bull#. Hi, I'm godspetrat., and this site is a lot of fun so far. I am looking forward to exploring it further!

Talk about an oversell heading. Huge letdown. But since I am here allow me to interject, I have purchased hot dogs and buns at the same time, 8 and 8, no left over.

Orrrr... we can beat them at their own game, and purchase according to the lowest common denominator-- 24. So... 3 packs of hot dogs and 4 packs of buns, have a neighborhood cookout & problem solved.

Actually, after I posted, that same thought occurred to me. I think, however, there may be packages of 10 hot dogs. Or is it buns? Not sure but I do seem to remember noting a discrepancy at one time or another.

You see, though I am a little skeptical on the FEMA coffin thing, the PTB want to remain much richer than you, even to the level of hotdogs! $$$..

$$$ is the key to the puzzle.

That plays in to the conspiracy to make you buy more. You just bought 3 packages of hotdogs, and 4 packages of buns.... That's 24 freaking hotdogs and 24 buns...

You can buy weiners in 12 packs in canada, along with buns as 12s.... You can also get Larger beef hotdogs in 8 packs, and rolls in 8s as well.... just saying.......

Same here....Hot Dogs and Buns always come in packs of 8. However i'm partial to Louisiana Hot Links that come in a pack of 16, so i buy two packs of 8 hot dog buns.

I've always wondered why brats come in packs of 5. I do love the spicy ones.

So true! However, my "beating the system" idea is that you get them all at once, with nothing left over, thus sabotaging the whole cycle of buying one of them, because you have some leftover of the other.

Still making you buy more than you might have needed, but as the OP mentioned... Hot-Dog Eaters R Us...
