How in the world does someone become a member of the Bilderberg group? I never understand the conspiracies against the group.

Here are some of the interesting ones I noticed..

USA Petraeus, David H. (I guess he's not that far out of the loop afterall)

USA Schmidt, Eric E. (What is a world meeting of nefarious types without Google around?)

USA Bezos, Jeff (Amazon sure is moving up in the world, eh?)

USA Evans, J. Michael (No Goldman Sachs? No meeting...I'm sure)

USA Geithner, Timothy F. (Hey, Timmy 'Turbo Tax' is going! Whoda thunk it?)

USA Graham, Donald E. (CEO of the Washington Post? Oh goodness..... Impartial huh?)

USA Kaplan, Robert D. (Stratfor is on the guest list! Hey, they let anyone into these?)

Well... Looks like an interesting list. Should be a real fun meeting with that group. Who doesn't bore you to death will scandal you to death and if that doesn't work? Well, they'll just rob you before turning you into an internet cyborg. That about covers the specialties I saw. Good Catch!

1) Own a corporation with a capital equivalent to that of a small country.

2) Be in control of either media, military, or foreign policy.

3) Have the power to literally control the world economy.

That's just my guess, based off of this list, and previous attendees.

Thanks for sharing. I would have to look more into this. It's interesting there are groups like Bilderberg and Bohemian Groove. A lot of mystery.

The Bilderberg Group isn't an official group - that's the name of the meeting and the hotel where it was held first if I'm not mistaken. We gave them that name, they have no name officially. It's branded as a "forum encouraging dialogue between European and North American leadership".

It's too much money, too much influence, and too many secrets to not allow any media at all, yet they invite media moguls.

Well, I guess it's understandable if people want to control and divide people by whatever power they have in their hands. You never know if they play golf for the whole meeting.

Its has to be about grain prices or quality.

No more Canadian Wheat Board remember.

Thanks Harper! you have really bent this country over a barrel.

You get invited....that's how. It is by invitation only. Those invitations are decided based upon very specific criteria.

Honestly, it is not a conspiracy although there will be many who will try to swear otherwise. The purpose of the group is to discuss world issues.

Yes, I know what you're saying. It would be cool to be apart of the meetings. Just to see how these people discuss current events and what must happen in the world.

Judging from previous lists I think that what they do is invite some fourth-tier people in just to give the impression that the group invites more than just the major movers and shakers. But my guess is that these surprise one-time invitees don't ever get the notes on where, when, and in which rooms the important meetings are being held.

The key topics for discussion this year include:
• Can the US and Europe grow faster and create jobs?
• Jobs, entitlement and debt
• How big data is changing almost everything
• Nationalism and populism
• US foreign policy
• Africa’s challenges
• Cyber warfare and the proliferation of asymmetric threats
• Major trends in medical research
• Online education: promise and impacts
• Politics of the European Union
• Developments in the Middle East
• Current affairs

So its just policy, war and technology? I guess the environment does not play an important role in the groups agenda.

It is a matter of priorities....There is only such much time for the event. The environment has been a subject in previous events. Just not this one.

Peace.

The prime minister of the Netherlands is going to be there too.

As for a conspiracy, who knows, perhaps other meetings take place behind "closed doors".

After all, thats how the Federal Reserve was created.

Similar meetings to this one occur in other countries in the off-months, large economic and world policy forums etc. as well as the usual TLC and CFR.

These little gatherings are just a bunch of rich and powerful people scheming to get richer and more powerful. I think that we should just stop paying attention to them, and every time we get a list like that in the op we start a world wide boycott of those that attended.

We are the ones that give them their power. Stop cooperating with them.

This is an interesting clip from Jon Ronsons 'them', with Dennis Healy, one of the founding members of Bilderberg explaining what it's about.
