Anti-Capitalist Protest: 'Blockupy' Surrounds ECB in Frankfurt

Thousands of "Blockupy" protesters gathered in Frankfurt on Friday, surrounding the European Central Bank to air their concerns about euro-crisis policies. Both the banks and police were reportedly well-prepared for the anti-capitalist demonstration.

Anti-austerity protesters march in Frankfurt

The demonstration in Germany coincides with the 15th anniversary of the European Central Bank (ECB) and will be followed later Saturday by similar rallies in both recession-hit Spain and Portugal.

"We would clearly like to say that the policies of the European Central Bank and the troika ... are not the solution," said Roland Suss, a spokesman for the Blockupy movement which organised the demonstration in Germany.

The troika of international lenders -- the International Monetary Fund, the European Union and the European Central Bank -- have imposed strict conditions on countries such as Greece and Portugal in exchange for bailout funds.

In Lisbon, demonstrators are symbolically set to march to the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) representational office.

"This time, there won't only be Portugal pounding the pavement, but all the people in Europe will demonstrate against the austerity recipe," Portugal's "Que se lixe la troika" (Screw the Troika) movement said in a statement. Rallies are also expected in 17 other Portuguese cities.

Day by day it appears more people are turning against the Big Banks. It warms the heart to see people protesting outside the offices of these Banksters. It's good to see the Occupy theme is still kicking around, from Turkey to Germany.

Let the people of the world keep the pressure on these Banksters and maybe one day they will come crumbling down.

And in other Bankster news, some light reading from Rolling Stone magazine.

Everything Is Rigged: The Biggest Price-Fixing Scandal Ever

The Illuminati were amateurs. The second huge financial scandal of the year reveals the real international conspiracy: There's no price the big banks can't fix.

Well, I hate to break it to you, but they have succeeded.

The people are now slaves, on the whole, for a global elite who just seem to keep getting richer and richer no matter how much we are all told the economy is in decline and we all have to earn less, pay more, buy more, give more, make do, suffer, struggle... and THEIR pay just keeps rising, their control grows, their power increases!

Uh oh, looks like the chickens are getting restless again!

Time to send in the sock puppet army and start accusing everyone of being lazy hippies who clearly don't like to work, and all wanna live off free government handouts or something...

Everyone please get back to your station, there's nothing to see here (YOU should all just be happy you have a job).

America pay no attention to Europe. Anyone who speaks out against economic injustice, or anyone who criticizes the giant banks that propagate our glorious system of fake money and unsustainable growth is just socialist scum who clearly HATES freedom.

Everyone else just continue with your Sunday shopping. Kool-aid is currently on sale in aisle 9.

Well, I tend to think that history repeats itself. Yes, we will come to see some hard times, and there will be blood and tears. But we will overcome this, as it has before.

So even if things are looking grim right now, theres always a way out, one just have to look for it the right place
