antibacterial

Chemist Louis Pasteur begged the doctor who was about to deliver the daughter's first baby to WASH his hands before the procedure.

The doctor reponded by saying, Why? If it is so small you can't even see it then certainly it can't kill you.

The opposite is true, That which you can't see (until it's too late) that will kill you.

Being caked in germs sounds unpleasant, but "friendly" bacteria living on our skin may have the vital role of keeping in check inflammation triggered by injury and unwanted bacteria.

The discovery extends the list of bacteria that the human body relies on to function. It also suggests that antibacterial hand gels and soaps might exacerbate skin conditions characterized by excessive inflammation.
www.newscientist.com...

A research team at NIH, including Heidi Kong, M.D., at NCI, has found that bacteria that normally live in the skin may help protect the body from infection. As the largest organ of the body, the skin represents a major site of interaction with microbes in the environment. Although immune cells in the skin protect against harmful organisms, until now, it has not been known if the millions of naturally occurring—and normally harmless—commensal bacteria in the skin, collectively known as the skin microbiota, also have a beneficial role. Using mouse models, the NIH team observed that commensals contribute to protective immunity by interacting with the immune cells in the skin. Their findings appeared online July 26, 2012, in Science and have significance for cancer patients whose immunity may be compromised.

While it is certainly wise to wash properly during specific times(any surgery, cleaning wounds), if you are constantly removing the beneficial bacteria from you skin throughout the day, you are leaving yourself susceptible to 'bad' bacteria and inflammation

What is bad for you is good because it is bad (paraphrasing)?
To point out the obvious, I WAS talking about prior to surgery!

Besides, we are talking about Conspiracy, not biology. I mentioned this analogy because some people in this forum express the belief that 'as long as I cannot SEE proof that the government hurting me, it IS not hurting me'. The truth is, things that you cannot see can and will kill you.

So lack of proof that the government is hurting you is now proof that they are? I don't follow. Why believe in some thing there is no evidence for. Why would they want to hurt you? Is it you specifically or people in general? Believe it or not its in the governments interest that you live a long health life, sickness is bad for the economy in terms of productivity.

Are you twisting my words on purpose or out of ignorance? Bacteria on your hand we cannot see with the naked eye. So there is no evidence? Try harder to follow.

You can BUY rubber bands?! Blasphemy!!
The rubber band manufacturer belongs to an industry association which represents THEIR interests. 'THEIR' capitalized because it indicates a group of people 'colluding' to have their interests furthered.

They are also represented in the Chamber of Commerce, which 'advocates' on a national level, possibly influencing federal policies, and signing of treaties (which may impact our Constitutional protections because it limits our sovereignty).

It may also sponsor "think tanks" in the effort to develop 'National Security' doctrines that will allow for pre-emptive military strikes against countries that threaten to cause a shortage in the supply of natural resources necessary for their production.

Most importantly, they may lobby to pass laws which will allow them to patent the idea of 'rubber band', thereby making any production of rubber bands by anybody else in the world, a patent infringement. Under Colorado law such infringement is a felony punishable by imprisonment. It is being done in the food industry.

On the other hand, nay-sayers may be correct, and these manufacturers are holding still - just waiting until the Chinese will throw them out of business.
