For one day only Boymonkey is back.

Been a couple of months since I left ATS in a rage and it was the best thing I have done for a long time.
I looked at my life and decided to do away with the unnecessary stress in my life which included ATS and the net and any news station.
I have completely stayed away from it all and I have done all the things I planned to do
I guess it is true when people say ignorance is bliss because it is true, I have never been happier, no worrying about the environment, war or any of the news because I just stopped watching it.
I decided to come back to the net and had a look in on ATS and it is still full of the same stuff, so after I comment on a couple of things that needs to be commented on ( lol ) I will again just use my computer for my writing.
Just thought I would pop in to show you (those who care ) Iam not dead and am doing fine.

It's hard for me to remember how many "breaks" I've taken from the news/ATS, etc. And I agree, it's good for the soul.

I have gone back and forth, back and forth, each time getting a better 'feel' for how to conduct myself here and how to not take it all too seriously. I don't want to be here if it stresses me out or pisses me off, so I have found a balance and it feels really good. I can be a part of ATS, but not OF ATS, if you know what I mean.

Whatever you decide to do in the end, I wish you good luck and happiness.

I'm glad you are doing okay. I have been worried, although I understand the need to get away. Take care of yourself!

If you treat ATS as a library or entertainment site then it might not be that stressful It can be stressful if you buy into many of the unproven theories IMO

I've used that method.
I just stay logged out and don't log back in for a period of time. Just read.

Yeah, I should take a break too. Although, getting into Philosophy and Metaphysics forums has been a good way of removing myself from the doom news. There's less animosities flying around on that forum too. Some really interesting threads too. Still its hard not to get embroiled into the politics and social issues threads.

Anyway good to hear your having a good break. Enjoy the doom free life.

To answer the question in your avatar (and assuming he's in a public restroom and no paper towels are present either)....he'd pick the sink closest to the air dryer, use the stopper and fill the sink with about 2" of water. He'd then start tearing the empty tp tube into teeny tiny pieces. Once done, he'd put these in the sink, and hand mix to make a paper slurry (or stir around with a comb to help separate the fibers). He'd scoop this up in his hand, and drain the sink. Then, he'd make a thin layer of the slurry along the bottom of the sink (using it as a mold). He'd then direct the air dryer into the sink (using his shirt sleeve or pants leg to direct the air if needed) to quickly dry the handmade paper sheet. He'd then flip the sheet, and dry the other side. After some time of this, he would have a usable sheet (likely rip it in half for two) of thick paper to use for wiping.

I can't think of a single place I've ever worked that I haven't eventually gotten the MacGyver nickname, hehe.... Though usually, it is for more office-related innovations...

nice to see ya... i've been off for a week and actually think i should have made it longer, i'm actually finding ATS a massive BS and prejudice factory at present. Hell, i think i need to have a few weeks off and reassess.

Nice to you again monkeyboy, glad all is well, I hope all continues to go well long into the future.

I too take breaks from time to time, but cannot ever stay away, my mind has an unquencheable thirst for knowledge, and I know it is out there.

Though I do grow weary of the doom porn from time to time, so I just isolate myself for a few weeks and then back to it like always.

If I don't hear from you again for awhile, or even ever if that is your wish, I hope your life continues to blossom and fullfill your dreams, as a great garden, well planted, in the throws of a hearty summer.
