I have lived logically,
thought rationally,
considered thoroughly,
and argued philosophically.

My thoughts, built with truth,
finely demonstrated examples of couth,
elements of wisdom lost on youth,
my utterances became
the ageless speech of the sages.

I had no place for passion,
nor emotions for a passing fashion,
but persistently pursued knowledge.
I reveled in intelligence
that agreed with my thinking.

I was more concerned with tenses
than with my senses.
I had no time for anything less than the empirical
or that which could be authenticated by science.
For what evidence is there that emotions are real,
that they have value,
are reproducible,
definable?

I don't live by emotions,
or make decisions based on feelings.
I live logically,
I think.

I wrote this as first person but I am in no way representative of this mind set. I have been accused of being too touchy/feely, too feminine, and too emotional! I stand and confess I am guilty as charged! Do I believe there are those that live this way? Absolutely! and not just Sheldon.

That was good friend. Thanks for sharing this one. Ya know it is okay to be sensitive and emotional.
I think it is a great quality for a man to have.

I have a few poems I have been working on, I just seem to stop in the middle and not finish though. I will get around to it eventually.

peace and love and hugs to you friend

Men are typically reserved when it comes to their emotions. I agree with what you say though. Nothing wrong with it.

Very nice.

I didn't think it fell on the sensitive side at all.

Thanks Nat! I look forward to reading your new poems. I am currently working on one to remember my little grand daughter Lynnea who died at 5 months into my daughter's pregnancy. I have only been able to write a few versus and have had to put it away for awhile. Sometimes I wish I didn't feel the pain so much but I know it is the cost of being awake and aware. Peace to you my friend!

I am so sorry to hear that. I will say a prayer right now for you and your daughter and others who are affected by this. That is a terribly sad occurance that happens a lot.
This world is full of pain but thats how we find our strength. We have to let our eyes rain for us to grow.

Peace to you and your family my friend

Thanks for your kind words. I recently added part of the poem to my signature.

"It is in the wounded heart we give birth to truth. It is in the birthing pain we hear its cry and recognize its voice."

Now if I can just continue...

Peace.
