Why is it when an individual fabricates religious BS to manipulate other people it is called a "cult", yet when a large and powerful organisation does the same thing, people who question it get frowned upon?

There is a big market for stupid people. Rev David Millikan is just scared Alan Miller is going to get a slice of his pie...

To me just seems like a bit of egomania fueled by morons who are like oh yeah? You probably are Jesus.

And his gal pal just happens to be Mary?

You'd think they were on something.

ps: You know he's not the first Jesus claimant to come out of Australia lol I wonder what the stats are world wide for each continent.

very true.

In my neck of the woods if you were to walk around claiming to be 'Jesus Christ' you would be promptly signed in to a mental hospital, most likely by family or friends.

Another one! I thought the one from Puerto Rico was the real one!. I wonder how many Jesus Christs I will see during my lifetime.

"José Luis de Jesús Miranda (born April 22, 1946 in Ponce, Puerto Rico) is the founder and leader of Creciendo en Gracia sect (Growing In Grace International Ministry, Inc.), based in Miami, Florida. He claims to be both Jesus Christ returned and the Antichrist, and exhibits a "666" tattoo on his forearm. He has referred to himself as Jesucristo Hombre, which translates to "Jesus Christ, the Man".

"In 2007 the Dallas Morning News reported that de Jesús "preaches to followers in some 35 nations, mostly in Latin America, and has 287 radio programs and a 24-hour Spanish-language TV network."

"According to Axel Cooley (one of the North American representatives), on transformation day members would have supposedly been able to walk through walls and go through fire and not get burned. José Luis wrongly stated that his transformation and that of his followers would occur on 30 June 2012"

So what happened on June 30? Well if you're reading this I guess you should know. Nonetheless, we've got to give the man some credit for the empire he has been able to built based on his "Teachings".

yeah but I think those people who move country and leave their careers to be near him must be missing something in their own lives. Or are just very gullible, naive people.

I find it interesting listening to the English woman. Her comments were clearly deflective of the truth. As though she couldn't say I have given up everything for this... because in saying it it would make her realize how stupid it really sounds in her own ears.

I'm pretty sure that Jesus the man didn't exist outside of stories and a system of control... but if he did exist I doubt very much he would condone leaving your family and making them suffer as one guy in that video did...

People are basically flawed but con men like this guy needs to be behind bars imho.

Peace,

Korg.

Ahh this guy I seen him 4 years ago on a current affair show in Australia.

Amazing so many people are stupidly following this man.

The closest this man has come to heeling something is with a virus scanner.

Just out of curiosity I googled this guy. He has a website and series of videos on youtube. I just finished watching the first video. I encourage all who have an open mind to do so. Whether on not this guy actually was Jesus doesn't really matter, I don't think. He has some really beautiful and profound things to say.

When Jesus returns, he will not need to make a claim. He will have the stature and authority beyond question.

Not to mention the pieces aren't even in place for his return yet......Where is the temple built? Oh yeah.......People still fall for this nonsense!

Hmmmm...

Sounds like this Aussie is a little off his rocker – who knows? but then of course the first one (r. Yehoshua bar Yosef the Galilean Nazir, c. BCE 12 – 36 CE) was a little out of his skull too according to the Greek canonical Gospel (‘according to Mark’ whoever he was)

Mark 3:21 And when his immediate family heard about this they went and subdued him saying, “He is insane'.

majority text: kai akousanteV oi par autou exhlqon krathsai auton elegon gar oti exesth

but see some of the others:

Scrivener 1894 Textus Receptus
kai akousanteV oi par autou exhlqon krathsai auton elegon gar oti exesth

Byzantine Majority
kai akousanteV oi par autou exhlqon krathsai auton elegon gar oti exesth

Alexandrian
kai akousanteV oi par autou exhlqon krathsai auton elegon gar oti exesth

Hort and Westcott
kai akousanteV oi par autou exhlqon krathsai auton elegon gar oti exesth

Here are some modern translations of Mark 3:21

The Bible in Basic English
3:21 And when his friends had news of it, they went out to get him, saying, He is out of his head.

Darby's English Translation
3:21 And his relatives having heard of it went out to lay hold on him, for they said, He is out of his mind.

So I guess the fruit doesn't fall very far from the tree after all...!!

I just don't see Jesus wearing glasses. Or, more importantly, making light of His crucifiction. That act has provided salvation for untold multitudes of people and is central to Christianity. I smell sulfur.

So long as he is not taking peoples livelihood. So long as he is not forcing anyone - why should any of us care if someone chooses to follow this man? I truly believe that some people are spiritually more enlightened than others. I personally believe all manners of "avatars" have been reborn for countless centuries - and we are so egotistically sure of our own superiority and fixation on one Avatar from our past (take your pick, we have Jesus, Muhommed, Buddha and others) - we've missed truly profound and deep spiritual teachings from spiritually advanced and gifted people. All because - we can't see. If he is so, (I haven't been able to watch this man's video's so I'm going on very biased reading), spiritually enlightened that is, then he will attract followers. Simple, really. It's everyone else passing judgement that is really causing the harm. Gotta love the irony, eh?

Be the change you want, rather than awaiting for a savior to make the change for you.

Peace,
Cirque

Mathew 24 verse five....."for many shall come in my name saying I am Christ, and shall deceive many."

This guy is one of many who have come and will still come, looking for attention, which more than not likely results in destruction and death for those stupid enough to believe him.
He wont be the last.

We in IT have our own wonky beliefs!

I do wonder though if this making him one step closer to the "Robot Messiah" Now I am wondering about that trip to the Down Under...

I am quite surprised that a story like this is on 'Sky News'.

A man claiming to be Jesus is gaining followers and causing concern among cult experts in Australia.

This is old news. Miller started his cult 6 years ago and still has fewer than 50 followers.

Not exactly a guy who's about to turn the world on its head.
