I sense a certain attitude in many posts here at ATS. It's an attitude that shows no sympathy for those viewed as lesser than yourselves.

Many feel that the homeless, welfare, drug addicts, and other bottom of the barrel people are getting what they deserve and shouldn't be a drain on the rest of society.

What you are preaching and asking for is a dog eat dog world. A devolution from our civilized society. You wish to return to when everyone cared for just their immediate family and damn everyone else.

Why do so many wish to return to such a time?

I ask are all of you (who will probably be too shame to post in this thread) REALLY built for such a society? I don't think so, you actually want a society that's half civilized and half savage. Especially when it comes to yourselves.

How many of you are young, strong and trained to survive in such a savage society? I'd wager that there is a percentage who spew they want such a society but they would be among the first to expire should we return to such savagery!

Many of you speaking of all this heartlessness are out of shape and may even have disabilities. You would be among the FIRST to expire. You should want this society to be as civilized as possible. You are all hypocrites!

Nobody should be forced to help anybody , a healthy society is founded on meritocracy,
our system now through many reasons , one of which is the obligatory corruption inherent
in our system of ever increasing Govt with it's machiavelli participants whose election or
reelection demands and rewards dishonesty, both in power and money.

We actually live at best under a Communist lite ideology, and moving closer to Communism
and Fascism both similar management systems.

Since dynamism flourishes and diminishes in relation to economic freedom and freedom in general
i would prefer to live in a free as possible society giving me as many opportunities to progress personally
and Society holistically.

Afraid has nothing to do with it.

A healthy society is one that instills personal responsibility while sensibly helping each other for the greater good of the whole.

If you wish to see a society where people around you are left to starve, I suggest stocking yourself up with as many firearms and bullets that you can afford, installing cameras around your dwellings, and getting into the best shape of your life. Because when the society you crave comes to pass, the ones living fat off of the hog will be the first to be disemboweled.

Tragic nonsense.( no offense)

A healthy individual is one with those
values and since most do the society will reflect this,
you want to force people to follow your view (good or bad morally ideologically etc),
which is wrong. A human being is Sovereign otherwise he/she is a defacto slave.

All I know is that the government is bring society down..period.

We have the good, the bad and the ugly all in one pot. Everyone is out for themselves and its like a cancer, you spread it to the next person. We can try to be nice and not judge eachother but some of us do and will. All I can say is try and be humble to eachother.

A human being that is a part of a functioning society has an obligation to help maintain that society's functionality. Does that mean being taxed to death, or watching as people sit on their bums? No. I will be the first to say that a lot of people need to take some responsibility for their lives.

That said, I do not want to see people starve, especially those who are in positions through no fault of their own. Watching people around you starve will lead to the break down of the society which protects the "sovereignty" that you are talking about.

If you feel that people should starve, that's your god given right. But don't piss your pants if the end result comes at your doorstep one day wielding a blunt object, demanding to be let in or else.

I don't want a dog eat dog society, but this one we have is broken. I would personally love it if we could scale back. I'm 30 never received any government assistance in my life. In good health, and exercise regularly so that means I go to work so I can provide for my family. I personally know tons of people that receive food stamps and sell them 2 for 1. I typically find that the people who jump to defend their self about how they don't sell them are the ones who truly do sell them. At the community hospitals patients tell staff why would I pay for Tylenol when I get it free here, or you need to give me a cab voucher so I can get home cause I have no ride. Patients calling ambulances for PMSing, colds just because they never see the bill.

No dog eat dog, but yes I do want to go back to when people mainly cared about their family. That produced good kids with respect and responsiblity which leads to a good civilized society. When you allow TV, video games, music, the kid down the street, or the parents down the street raise your children cause your too busy with work or drugs or just your life it leads to kids not knowing what they want and thinking they are all in charge basically leads to Amerika 2013

Same Progressive drivel heard from Progressives.

The idea that the Govt is here to help us is a bald face lie. It takes control and power from the person, and dictates what we can and can't do.

People are charitable, sympathetic and empathic. The Govt is not.

I don't have to steal from my neighbors paycheck, to give to a homeless person. The Govt does.

Sorry, but the idea that the world will fall apart if the Govt were to be taken back to how it was originally constructed is silly. You should be more worried about the Boogeyman under your bed.

No one wants to go back on soup lines, but if you knew anything about the welfare system ,you would understand why most people find welfare recipients so distasteful.
Not all,but more than 60%.
Its pretty much why the country is broke ,and the govt perpetuates it .

Are you serious?

What is the annual budget for welfare payments? I'm guessing it's about a 100th of the defence budget. The banks are to blame for this mess along with the U.S's insatiable apetite for invading countries that don't want to live a western style lifestyle. My own country's Government is happy to go along with them, because after all it's the wealthy bankers who are controlling it all. The same bankers that fund these politicians and parties.

Meanwhile, the military machine keeps rolling, the money keeps being borrowed and the interest keeps being added. This debt is then passed down to the plebs and the plebs are constantly reminded of this debt. To deflect attention from the true facts someone has to take the fall and I guess it's easier to kick a man whilst he's down.

BULLCRAP! The intent of this thread was clearly to try to use fearmongering to manipulate opinions towards wealth redistribution.

There is no hypocracy here, my friend. There are people who PROVIDE FOR THEMSELVES and there are people who FEEL ENTITLED TO LEECH. My God do I ever get sick of other people's goddamned hands constantly reaching for my wallet and my paycheck. :shk:

To answer your question, YES. Every human being is fully equipped to thrive in a society where each is expected to pull their own weight rather than one in which half the society pulls both their weight and the weight of those refusing to pull. That is what mankind did for all but the last hundred years of our history. We've experimented with socialism and with forced alms, found that it doesn't work and sucks, and the time has now come to hit the reset button and move on.

It always amazes me how few people actually realize that Darwin's surivial of the fittest applies to humans, too.

Hahahahaha!!! I love THIS topic. I'm all for homeless people. Times are hard, and ya gotta get it how ya get it. But all you people with jobs; dependant on the system for your little paper, and false wealth. I've been on the bottom, and it's rough. I've learned alot. When tshtf. I'm ready. I'll definatly be eating. I believe it's coming. I tell everyone I meet; who are mostly poor, 'lower-class' people btw. A war is coming. But not like any we've had before. It wont be a country against a country, or a nation against a nation. It'll be the rich, versus the poor. Atleast that's MO.

Well let me put it this way, the downtrodden the poor maybe look pathetic in some peoples eyes, why because the only job they could get was part time and low wage.

pieces of paper that you hold in your hand mean nothing and money is only a tool a tool that has been used against the poor.
when the money goes so does the power and then the fear creeps in, that's the once rich having fear not the poor as they are used to no money
The rich fail to realise that its only paper and I dont think one man is better than another because he has bundles of paper

This may be the most short sighted comment in the entire thread... You're saying that if I'm tired of seeing ever increasing portions of my earnings being taken from my paycheck to be redistributed to an ever growing swath of society which sits on their ass and mooches off our earnings, I should just stop working and making money?
It suddenly becomes more and more clear how we found ourselves in this situation to begin with. When did pride become a foreign concept to America? :shk:

Exactly. The one thing these people with jobs, and 'retirement funds', and '401ks', and all that. They have little to worry about except loosing some money. They aren't prepared to have to fight; possibly (actually most likely) to the death for some food. I mean, there's exceptions in every case, but for the most part; they aren't ready for a real 'dog eat dog' society. I mean look at the wording: dog eat dog. Only time you wanna eat is when you're hungry, and they haven't been hungry for a while.

So you are saying that the working class must pay off the inner city non-workers so that the 'inner cities' won't go out and loot and kill because they don't get their handouts?

What is sad is that a lot of those 'inner city' people that you are talking about have made some very bad life decisions ... like getting hooked on drugs and having bunches of children whom they can't (or won't) take care of ... children who don't even know who their fathers are ... decisions like robbing people to get money to spend on $200 sneakers because it's 'cool' ...

... and you wonder why people who work for a living don't want to support that? Really? You are endorsing paying shake down money for those in the 'inner city' who are partly responsible for their own situations.

No this is not what I am saying and was not the premis of this thread.

However addressing what you suggest, it will be pure hell for everyone if entitlements are stopped. There are more poor than middle class or rich. In history, when the poor finally have enough of being stepped on the rich swing from lamp posts.

He's not talking about TEOTWAWKI ... that kind of thing.
He's talking about what would happen if ENTITLEMENTS for the inner city STOPPED.

The title of this thread is very misleading.

No I am talking about the hypocracy many display when they cry they want entitlements and other sympathetic gestures to stop.

I am calling out the people wishing for the collapse of civilization when in reality they would be the first to die because they can't get their hypertension or diabetic medication.

If entitlements for the inner city stopped, the people would leave and go into the country and find jobs, earn a living, and contribute to society. Entrepreneurs would then come in, rebuild the inner city, buy and sell and everyone would prosper. The reason they call them entitlements is because people feel they are "entitled" to have other peoples stuff, money, food, etc.

I am not saying don't feed such people, we need to do that, but don't give them free phones, Tv sets, free housing, etc. Give them something to eat and something to wear and perhaps maybe, just maybe they'll want to make more out of themselves than to live off other people's hard work and effort.

Not what the thread is about but...

So when they leave the cities they will make NEW cities of the country? They will over populate the rural areas?

Give an example of what type of posts would lead you to make an extreme statement like that.
You don't have to quote exact posts ... just give us a flavor of those that you think are calling
for 'dog eat dog society'; Thank you.

I have lurked on this site for awhile now, and I can tell you that there are several posts made on a daily basis by people who are craving for a dog eat dog society, where they look down upon the less fortunate and make assumptions about people because they are on welfare or have to resort to using SNAP.

They want these people to starve. They want unfortunate families who cannot find decent employment to provide for each other to starve. No UI, no welfare, no healthcare, no food, anything. Just let them starve, and in their warped minds, they believe that these "lazy" people will just die off. What a tragic assumption.

I laugh when I read posts from the haughty individuals that yearn for the society where people are starving in the streets, because they believe that their belongings, loved ones, and personal safety will be secure in such a world.

They should pray to their god that the day doesn't come. No matter how many guns you own, you can and will be overwhelmed when the wilding begins. I myself lead a comfortable existence, but I am not foolish enough to think that my right to bear arms can protect me when a mob of starving people whose psyche has been pushed to the brink in a dog eat dog society come knocking at my door.

Keep begging for your dog eat dog society in this country. Blood will bathe the streets, and men will swing from lamp posts.
