For the first time in medical history, doctors have created an airway splint with a 3-D laser print, which was implanted into a boy whose airway kept collapsing. Kaiba Gionfriddo, a 19-month-old boy who was 3 months old when he had the operation done, was suffering from a birth defect that caused his airway to collapse nearly every day.

Ah man, that's beautiful. There's NOTHING in this world like the compassion you sometimes see in medicine, where top science and beautiful moral causes come together. It moves me to no end when I see it.
