Listening to the Black Eyed Peas is like getting a mild lobotomy, I instantly felt dumber just reading the lyrics. It reminded me of this article I read awhile back:

Yeah, the BEPs make me depressed, no articulation, simplicity vs intelligence so far as I'm concerned.

As far as I am concerned this is one of the best songs ever written for it's lyrical content.

To bad they didn't make many more tunes along these lines.

The way I see it, no one is perfect: the people who are the most tempted are often the people with the greatest power to fill others with love. When the Devil figures the kind of love we have to promote world peace and happiness HE PUTS A BOUNTY ON OUR HEAD!! It is evident that the Black Eyed Peas have made some abominable music in their time, but this song....this song is incredible. I hope they can overcome their worldly temptations more often!!

Yes. They do. They even claim Jesus which is kinda weird.

Interesting thread, thanks. I know the song you are referring too and yes it has a beautiful message for humanity in it but the problem is the other songs don't. If you mix a drop of water in poison it's still poison.

The trick to mind control I to say something nice so everybody thinks you are good and they have a good impression of you then you can sing about retards and asses and nobody minds. The purpose of the black eyed peas is to supply the world with mind washing garbage and propagate the popular lies at the moment in society while making everybody "get retarded!"

I wish they would sing about the beauty of creation and the Glory of God. Black eyed peas were after all originally made by God as food good to eat and pleasing to look at. Let that rather be their legacy.

S&F... From an atheist. Beautiful and meaningful song.

I think it's SAD the so many here cannot simply accept the song for what it is, but instead criticize and judge the vehicle (Black Eyed Peas) for not living up to some ideal that they are convinced they, themselves, meet... Or are they judging, KNOWING that they, themselves, are not perfect in the eyes of their God?

Where, in religion, does it say that it's OK to judge others as not being "perfect" when you, yourself are not perfect? Because I was under the impression that just the opposite is true...

Some people can't just say, "That's beautiful" without going after what they see as a negative. Instead of recognizing the beauty and truth in that song, they find reasons to make negative judgements... Yeah, I don't think that's what their God or Jesus had in mind at all.

But I loved the song.

This thread is trying to call attention to the Christian aspects of the BEP song, and giving them praise for their peacemaking efforts. I never said the song itself is explicitly Christian, just that the BEP are not all bad like you might probably think!
