RAF Typhoons scrambled after Pakistan Airline incident

RAF Typhoon jets have been launched to investigate an incident involving a civilian aircraft within UK airspace, the Ministry of Defence has said.

A Pakistan International Airlines plane has been diverted from Manchester to Stansted Airport, a Manchester Airport spokesman said

Seems serious - Stanstead is the UK airport of choice for dealing with Terrorist /Hijacking incidents due to its remote location and size.

We will have to see what develops as the day goes on - eyes glued to the BBC site now.

With the current mood in the UK this can only be seen as a concern.

Not a good week - and with Bilderberg in town in two weeks not a very good image of the country going out there at the moment.
