This seems bonkers.

I'm sure most other western countries would be in uproar and it would be a big story but it seems to have little coverage in the American media.

rt.com...
rt.com...

This is what passes for terrorism these days.
Surely the prison guards guarding this 'dangerous terrorist' feel silly!

A Boston-area teenager remains in custody on $1 million bond nearly one month after being arrested over what he said on the Internet.

One Million Dollars? Really?

“He posted a threat in the form of rap where he mentioned the White House, the Boston Marathon bombing and said, ‘everybody you will see what I am going to do, kill people,” Methuen Police Chief Joe Solomon told the Valley Patriot earlier this month.

“Cam's attorney made arguments that he should be released to his family and that all evidence (including testimony from the police) suggested that he was not a threat to anyone. He also noted that Cam was two weeks away from graduation, and Methuen High School had decided to grant him a diploma,”

Only in America.

Can't post "threatening" things on Facebook but it's complete acceptable to drone-strike innocent civilians.

This government gets away with some of the dirtiest, sadistic, and cruel acts imaginable. But God forbid you speak out against it, that makes you a terrorist!

The logic used here is so stupid, music that glorifies sex and drugs, being 'gangsta n gettin it,' a movie culture driven by gore and foul language, a video game industry based on shooting and violence, a government that brainwashes and poisons it's citizens, while subjugating and playing a vital role in a destabilization of other nations for said governments sole benefit; but by golly gee you better not "threaten" your oh-so loving and kind-hearted gubment!

Seriously, what a joke.

Sad thing is that it wasn't even a threat.

Any fool with half a mind can see he is just a teen trying to act hard. There are a thousand people just like him writing pseudo violent lyrics, many are far worse than what he said and many are even signed to label and sell their music/lyrics.

Good point about the drones too, in a week when we have been told by Obama himself that they have killed four US civilians using drone attacks it seems whilst in the country they will use bogus hiked up charges but if you leave the country you are fair game to be killed without trial.

Completely bonkers.

But on the bright side...

D’Ambrosio wrote, “I’ma be famous rapping.”

And now he is.
Worldwide.
He's jumped the hurdle most music makers never get over - the hurdle of obscurity.

Some promoter should get this guy a gig the moment he gets released. You can be guaranteed big takings at the gate.

So much for "freedom of speech".
He should be able to threaten to blow up the entire country if he wants to.
That's why it's called "freedom" of "speech".

But hey, what the hell do I know?

I was thinking exactly the same thing!

If and when he gets released he should milk this for all he can get!

THE RAPPER SO DANGEROUS THEY HAD TO LOCK HIM UP!!!
He could be getting laid and chillin big time. Living the rap dream.

His youtube channel has hundreds of thousands of hits now and considering what I saw on there was so garbage that it almost actually was criminal (only joking of course!) I suspect he had like 3 hits before this.

“(Expletive) a boston bominb wait till u see the (expletive) I do, I’ma be famous rapping, and beat every murder charge that comes across me!”

One step at a time eh kid! Let's try and beat the terrorism charges first.

LOL at people on a conspiracy theory site constantly quoting RT, which is run by the Kremlin.

Let's see what the Russian socialist media isn't telling you:

According to police reports, D'Ambrosio has a history of making violent threats, once to his sister and once to a pair of eighth graders. Police responded to an incident in 2006 in which a neighbor reported that D'Ambrosio bit her son on the arm during a fight.

In September 2012, another student severely beat D'Ambrosio, rupturing his spleen and putting him in the hospital, over a Facebook post by D'Ambrosio about the student's girlfriend. At a 9 May 2013 hearing, a judge called D'Ambrosio a threat to the community and ordered him held without bail for up to 90 days:

"I believe the behavior here has been escalating," Judge Lynn Rooney said after reviewing a half dozen records of police and probation reports prosecutors submitted at the hearing. "And it's very troubling."

The reports included D'Ambrosio's arrest in June 2012 after a fight over $20 with his older sister, who called police after locking herself in her room. During the argument, D'Ambrosio pushed her and, after she locked herself in her bedroom, threatened to stab her, according to the arrest report.

Rooney said she also was troubled by a police report from November 2011, which said D'Ambrosio threatened to shoot two eighth-grade students. Police said he admitted to making that statement, but was only kidding.

Please God no!

Please?

Those lyrics were terrible...

...well, so are most rap lyrics.

Heh.

You might be on to something.

Exactly.

There is a 'secret' war being waged against our unalienable rights. This government kills it's own citizens, and civilians, CHILDREN, from other countries, and nothing is ever said or done about it.

A kid posts what he wants (freedom of speech?), which is not threatening, but is jailed for it? And is treated as if he just murdered a child?

(I won't point out the irony right there.)

All the while, most Americans are more concerned with Kim Kardashian (my iPhone even has an autocorrect for her name. Wow) and Derrick Rose. Then, these same ignorant fools who are glued to their television are fed endless amounts of fear through cherry-picked "news" reports (that always are negative, of course) in which they get on their social media to whine about "what's this world coming to!!!1!"

Oh, America. If only more of our citizens would wake up and realize that our politicians don't represent our country, and that they have their own chains. And the men holding their chains see us as serfs, pawns on their global chess-boards.

Now-a-days, nearly any/every action like this should be seen objectively. The 'slippery slope,' the 'foot in the door,' technique if you will. Hyper-awareness is something that many people would dismiss as an 'impairment,' yet those people refuse to look at the actions that are speaking volumes compared to the hollow lies and speeches given by pathological liars, er, I mean politicians.

I had already seen this but it doesn't take Columbo to work out that none of this is really evidence suggesting that he needs to locked up.
Typical teenage idiot behavior does not constitute taking idle lyrics seriously and seeking prosecution on terrorism charges.

I did not include that as I don't want to even entertain justification for these actions as it's complete garbage.

I always take RT with a pinch of salt, however those in the know will tell you that they are the very opposite of supporters of the Kremlin.
Yes they do have an agenda at times but it's certainly not Kremlinistic, quite the opposite. And the fact that you feel they are suggests you know very little of how they are run.

In regards to how their agendas inflict on their reporting: as a friend of mine who is a journalist for Al-Jazera English (a white British anti-religious independent minded and open guy before you start slinging accusations) said to me 'all media outlets have an agenda, as agendas come from opinions and we all have them, but on most stories you get to do what you want, you get free reign, you can get into trouble but it's normally done already, almost all of the journalists don't care for the agendas and just want to report, it happens that sometimes they play down a story or bump one up, but you have to learn to try and play round them'

I have only one question for you and it is this:
Do you think the actions of the police and prosecution are justified and if so please state your case.

Whoever reports it, it still seems bonkers to me.

What the hell does the source have to do with this?

I don't care if it was reported by Alex Jones himself, guess what, it still happened! Scratch that, happenING, considering this ordeal isn't over.

But hey let's just make jester and folly of our fellow members, make sure to add emoticons in there to express our superiority!

(Funny how comments like mine are often removed but yours, which is nothing more than a tantalizing one-liner always stay.)

My turn: It's funny how people use these forums and never offer an opinion on the original post but instead just attack the source and the people participating in the discussion because their source says the other source is bad.

Right. They didn't silence him, though. They arrested him for his stated threat. Not uttering the words.

I mean, he has the right to break the law when threatening to blow up places... but he's still breaking the law.

I'd rather think the little ditty was a tale requiring such an act, and the singer was merely singing his story. no more than acting in song.

So either way, arrested without any rational thinking by those involved in upholding an easily fallible law.

OMG, have you nothing better to do than go round disputing every reference made to RT news?!?!?

You were on my thread, another thread, and I open this thread...To find you -_- again.

RT -"Putins Propaganda" - We get it!! We're not all eejits yaknow!!

I personally prefer Putins propaganda - If he's exposing the west I don't care how he does it.

In regards to the named rapper - Are you surprised he has a not so perfect past? Hate to be stereotypical (well I dont) but Rappers tend to Rap to let out their pent up anger - therefore, he may of had some anger issue's...It's not a big deal nor rocket science.

********************************************************************************************************************************

On a side note what ever happened to that US Soldier Brandon Raub.... something like that???

He free yet?

Stupid thing is he has decided that just because they have many socialist speakers on RT like Noam Chomsky and Assange that means they are run by Kremlin types and Putin, when if he looked properly at RT he would see they are ANTI PUTIN. Case in point, they have championed Pussy Riot from the start and had extensive positive coverage of the anti Putin protests during and right after the previous Russian elections.

And good point, I haven't heard anything from Brandon of late.

you cant say "brainwashing rap is bad, we want to brainwash kids with more wholesome things" - yeah how about not brainwashing them at all?! or even better, give them the "parental guidence" that it tells you to on the label?

I'm of two minds on this. First, if true this is a true violation of this kids's freedom of speech. I'm sure a simple investigation showed that the kid was no terror threat- just an idiot. But second, I really can't stand the newer rap songs and would like to see most rap artists jailed if it would shut them up. Rap was fun in the beginning, most of it now is just a bunch of trash with only a few exceptions.
