Bandaids have antibiotics imbedded in them nowadays...so they are a help and a "fix". They can help and heal and bring about positive outcomes.

Cody, ATS DOES make a difference. People like you and Natalia and Doc and Rocky and so many others make a diiference! You light up my life....each and every one of you.

Sure, some posts/threads at some forums don't sovle world hunger or bring about world peace...but sometimes it takes "baby steps" to get started to accomplish giant leaps for mankind, in time. I don't agree that reading here is a waste of time. The more we learn and share and examine and ponder, the more some of us may actually think of a way to make a positive difference in this world. By not reaching out and communicating and building relationships, we won't solve anything either. I have read a lot of interesting articles and posts here that have changed my point of view and many issues and even caused me to become more involved in some issues. Sure, if one spends 24/7 on line, they won't have time to act on anything...but, if one spends some time on line, reading books, documents, and exploring various other avenues as well and doing their own research, because of a "spark" that got ingnited/started here..(.made them think)....that can happen and I believe it does.

There are all kinds of forums, it's not just a "fear porn" dealy as some believe. The chat and rant and short stories forums are pretty cool and you get to meet a lot of wonderful people and even build relationships...there's nothing wrong with that. Making a new friend makes a difference! Sharing our joys and comforting each other when things go wrong...that is called being alive and being human, and that is a good thing. There are forums about art/music/cars, science and so much more. You can learn here and knowledge is power.

I have MS and other health issues yet coming here makes a big difference in my life. I come here and realize other folks have problems and physical/emotional/spiritual pain too and we can share and say things that resonate and bring us some small amount of comfort and peace...and that is no SMALL thing. It means the world to some of us! It is never wrong to reach out.

Sure, some topics can border on the ridiculous, some are entertaining, but some are down right fabulous. ATS saves my life sometimes too...Cody, you bring joy and laughs and smiles to us all and one can literally forget all kinds of pain and sorrow when they have folks like some of those here, to share with. I love ya'll! Even the "agreeing to disagree" and fight topics can influence folks, change folks or at least inspire or keep their adrenaline going so they know they are still alive...pissed off maybe, but alive. Blessings to all. ^j^ You make a difference...ATS makes a difference. It is all in perception and attitude, as to how one feels about the site.
