People's Annoying Avatars, page 1

Ok I have been keeping this to myself for a long time,someones avatar just set me off. It is so annoying when you are scrolling down a post and you are trying to read a post and the avatar is either animated (moving) or an optical illusion.

A message to those with annoying avatars.

Ok so you want an annoying avatar, so do you realize I almost never read your posts because either I cant focus enough to read or it bugs my eyes and I don't read it at all.

Fast moving avatars or avatars moving from side to side or up and down rapidly especially are extremely annoying.

Mind trick optical illusions can also be extremely distracting if you are trying to read.

Please stop using annoying avatars so that I can read your posts THANK YOU!

I wish I could give an example but I don't want to single any one out.
Your avatar is neither moving or an optical illusion. So it is fine

I guess the funny little "Hide Member Avatars" button in your profile setup is broken?

Because if it's not, you're ranting over something you have control over.

So because of a few people I should hide everyone's avatar. Really there should be a hide this members avatar button.

I enjoy seeing a lot of people's avatar's even the ones that move they only become annoying when I try to read them.

Easier solution: Just hit escape on your keyboard before you start reading the page. It stalls all the moving avatars but leaves the image on the page.

That might help you.

Your avatar isn't so bad On a scale of 1- 10 10 being the worst your avatar is about a 3 I'm mainly annoyed by the ones that are between 5-10 on the annoying scale.

Good, because I really didn't want to change it. I do understand some avatars can be a bit annoying. Good luck trying to get people to change them.

Well...I'll help you out OP....I'm guessing mine annoys you....
It was created for me and I Love it, although I did ask him to slow down the fish when he first made it as they swam much faster. I can handle feedback, would mine be one your talking about ?

Maybe you are more sensitive to sensory overload than most. PTSD maybe?

And those avatars set you off because the movement triggers areas in your mind that are involved in defense against aggressors.
