I could tell ya but I'd have to kill ya!

And no problem. I love spreading the coolness out there for all to see. Hint to any future Airman out there, become a boom operator!

Brilliant images. Thank you for sharing them with us, boomer135.

Absolute respect to you for serving your country.

Also, if you want to re-upload any pics that are now un-linked in your "A day in the life of a Boom Operator...RIP 8877" thread (especially all those in your OP), just contact me or another staff member and we can arrange for a mod to edit new links into your posts.

How did you manage to get that close to A51?! I'm obviously going into the wrong job

Those are some incredible pics, I love the real close one of the B2, you can almost see what the pilots have in their sandwiches!!

Great pics man, I always love when you break them out.

(But that's an E-4 not VC-25.
The -25 has a solid blue nose, the E-4 has a blue stripe down the side.)

Sorry, I had to do it.

Do you need to get these approved from PR?
Hate to see ya get in hot water...
I work in FAA facilities and it's a no-no to take pics inside facilities.

pics so close I can almost hear the F22 Pilots running out of oxygen. These are amazing. How long does your tanker stay airborne for?

Only if it's carrying anything secret, out it's a secret platform. Otherwise you can take as many as you want. Tankers even carry passengers on refueling missions sometimes.

Talk about an awesome job, and a HUGE amount of responsiblity, you pretty much have the ability to tell the pilots how to fly to the boom, with corrections Right?? And if they dont get it right, well they better get t right. LOL

The VC-25's (2 of them) are basically what you think of as "Air Force One" although that designation is really for aircraft actually carrying the President at the time.

The E-4 (Nightwatch) is just about as rare (only about 4 of them?), and is an airborne command post (during a nuclear war). Awesome to get a pic of one of these!

Never knew the f-22s were flying again, i thought they were grounded due to oxygen tank troubles killing a few pilots.

It was only one pilot in Alaska. The other incidents were hypoxia type events, but they weren't in any danger.

I really don't know what to type except how awesome your pics are!!

I wish I had a chance to visit America and a catch a beer and bbq with people like you and Zaph, and just listen to the conversation!! I imagine it would be very informative

Your special f-16 is EW?

The pod looks like an ALQ-188 ECM variant, but slightly different than the few I've seen.
I assume it's better than the 188.

Speaking of which, got any old F-111 pics?

I'm just wondering but is it ok to release close up pictures of the stealth planes?
a lot of detail in those pictures that someone with knowledge in that field can use...maybe?
