A lot of us went through the same phase -- the information is attractive, and it's presented so compellingly.
Luckily, Wikipedia and other resources make it easier to check up on claims. In the days when I first came across this information, you had to go
search libraries for it... and if you were in the Occult section, you didn't notice that there were books with an alternative view in the
Anthropology section or in Geology (in the case of Pangaea) and information might not be in the encyclopedia.
