More people listened to the teaparty hence the sweep in the House of Representatives which is why the adminstration unleashed it's gestapo on them.

Oh please. So you are ok with these groups lying to get out of paying taxes? There is no PROOF Obama had them do anything.

in your humble opinion?

if not then this op is just trying to get "mileage" out of a non issiue

The OP is doing the job the MSM has failed to do.

Is subverting charities for politics acceptable? How are charities being subverted, and if a message coincides then it isn't. Catholic charities provide soup and prayers. Baptist charities provide the same. Tea Party organisations may just be preaching a different message.

Self-reliance, freedom from government subservience being just a couple messages that are being provided.

The OP hasn't done anything but show his lack of knowledge on the subject. You cannot claim these deductions while pushing your political agenda. Just what message was the tea party preaching?

What part of "The Buck Stops Here" do folks not understand? If this were GWB nobody would be defending him here. Everyone would be like "He's the Potus and ultimately the responsibility lies at his feet".

How many people screamed impeachment when GWB ordered the IRS to investigate the NAACP?

The administration/Obama hasn't done anything but show his lack of knowledge on the subject. You cannot target political groups that go against his 'wishes' while pushing his political agenda. Just what message was the Obama administration preaching?

Fixed for accuracy.

Was the IRS and Bush hounded about it like Obama is being hounded? No they were not. Sorry my post wasn't as useless as yours.

Obama should be impeached. Better yet, set up a whole new government where the needs of the people are actually put first. Imagine that.

He has lack of knowledge on a subject but he ordered them to do it. Ok They can target political groups that commit fraud which is just what these groups were doing. And seeing how Obama wasn't trying to get an exemption he wasn't preaching anything.

Just to provide an example of the difference two opposite political tax exempt groups are treated by the IRS.

From 2011 and reported by the NY POST

President Obama's half-brother runs an off-the-books American charity that claims to support poor Kenyans -- but it lies about its federal status and no one knows how it spends its money. The foundation claims to be a tax-exempt, federally recognized nonprofit. It is not.

Nor are there any filings of its expenditures, which the IRS requires of larger charities.

Alton Ray Baysden, a former State Department employee at whose Virginia home the charity was founded in 2008, admitted the organization has not even applied for tax-exempt status.

Then magically IRS official Lerner speedily approved exemption for Obama brother’s ‘charity’

Lois Lerner, the senior IRS official at the center of the decision to target tea party groups for burdensome tax scrutiny, signed paperwork granting tax-exempt status to the Barack H. Obama Foundation, a shady charity headed by the president’s half-brother that operated illegally for years.

According to the organization’s filings, Lerner approved the foundation’s tax status within a month of filing, an unprecedented timeline that stands in stark contrast to conservative organizations that have been waiting for more than three years, in some cases, for approval.

Now I suppose someone here is going to tell me the president had nothing to do with that either?

They weren't hounded because there wasn't a political attack by the IRS when Bush was in office. What is wrong with you, you're not making any sense?

Ok the IRS does not have the right to single any political group out

Period.

They don't have the right to define 'legitimate' or 'illegitimate'.

as best as i understand the nuance of the law,
if you collect money intended to be tax free under the exemption you are not required to disclose donors,
but are compelled to show that the "primary" benefactor is in the public interest or in the social welfare BEFORE tax exemption is possible.

it is expected that any groups who show political affiliation will be asked extra questions,

ie
anything with OWS in the application.
for example is due extra scrutiny to ensure the flow of money is for the stated purpose and not electing the OWS politicians.

i am trying to point out the FACT that these groups were trying to subvert a charity designation to push a political opinion for personal benifit rather than what the law says.

I've got news for you. This goes way past "political organizations".

He is the author of “The Ultimate Obama Survival Guide: How to Survive, Thrive, and Prosper During Obamageddon,” which was published last month.

A pre-law and political science major in the class of 1983, like the president, Root told WND that he received an “unsettling” telephone call from an IRS agent in January 2011 who called himself a fan of his and considered it “an honor” to audit him.

Root won a complete victory last summer in tax court, which found no taxes owed in his 2007 and 2008 filings. But then, he said, he and his tax attorney were shocked when he was hit with a new audit just five days later, for 2009 and 2010.

This week, Root has received many emails from people who identify as conservative and believe the IRS has been harassing them for political reasons.

He said he was contacted by a Mormon man who said everyone he knew in his small Mormon community was being audited for the first time in their lives.

Just as many as are raising a fuss about this current incident with BHO. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson leading the MSM charge along with leadership from the NAACP, the Black Panthers, attorneys for the ACLU, vaious other civil liberties groups and multiple celebrities. Has it been so long that you've forgotten the television bombardment about the outrage? The difference is that in this particular incident is that the MSM, rather than focus on the Potus as they did in THAT incident, are focusing on supposed low level lackeys to place the blame on- whose jobs have been threatened if they speak to the press.

It seems like to me-and I'm politically inert for the most part-that The President locking himself into the position that he only heard about the abuse from the media 10 days after the story broke was a huge mistake-that could very well cost him in the end.

As history has proven so many times control is a relative process. The Reich had 100% media control however they could do nothing about word of mouth commutation between those in the know-especially where social contacts involving alcohol are involved. The SD became so frustrated because no matter how much they threatened persons once alcohol lessened inhibitions the 'birds started to chirp'.

Anyone who has been to the Beltway knows the saturation of watering holes is about as thick as it can get. If the President is outright lying about this-then people are going to drink and they are going to talk-this must be a huge worry for his staff.

The Brits were-and I'm sure still are-masters at using young women in social situations where alcohol is served to enlist information from even the most stern military officers. So much of this was psychological and a result of intense training about how alcohol affects people-along with the sexual nature in which many of these young girls needed little if any training.

Just makes you wonder-if your an employee of the White House or the staff and you are approached by a young woman you don't know the next cab is yours. You can bet this little history lesson has been 'networked' to all male staff members.

The tea party can inform people of there costitutional rights this is not political. Under 501 c they can also fight issues such as gun control or obama care by informing people again standard procedure.Democrats just got mad because they have been doing this for decaddes and the republicans jumped on the band wagon too. Before the t party there where very few repulican 501c this was almost exclusively democrat and was started with groups like NAACP we all know there not political.

President met with anti-Tea Party IRS union chief the day before agency targeted Tea Party.

“For me, it’s about collaboration.” — National Treasury Employees Union President Colleen Kelley on the relationship between the anti-Tea Party IRS union and the Obama White House

Is President Obama directly implicated in the IRS scandal? Is the White House Visitors Log the trail to the smoking gun? The stunning questions are raised by the following set of new facts.

According to the White House Visitors Log, provided here in searchable form by U.S. News and World Report, the president of the anti-Tea Party National Treasury Employees Union, Colleen Kelley, visited the White House at 12:30pm that Wednesday noon time of March 31st.

spectator.org...

So Obama 'knew nothing' ??

Potus 'Shultz'.

So Treasury, and IRS union representatives met with Obama day before at both are ant-Teaparty.

I didn't buy Obama knew nothing clear as day that the teaparty was a serious threat to him in 2010, and could be for the 2012 election.

From open secrets: www.opensecrets.org...

94% to Democrats

So is this a 'smoking gun' ?

I report you decide.

listen people. obama (obummer) was designed to be destroyed.
this much should at least be clear to any regarding the sloppiness with which
this actors life history has been fabricated and presented to the public.
his whole future history has been long since scripted in this game we call our lives,
and it looks as if it could be any day now when the curtain was decided to
be felled on this production.
this is soap-opera and you conspiracy minded people are as rooted
to the BS narratives/scripts here as any mainstream day's of our lives/coronation street
viewer 'sheeple' is there! (no-offense intended toward anyone.)

he hasn't got to where he is today by not being supported and protected from ALL sides!

mongo barry was designed to be destroyed.

it's all theatre, and we need to get up and leave with 'F this S'!.

(and if you don't start factoring in media fakery into your (and their) equations, you
are destined to remain sprawled in their arena, suspended in disbelief, 'till the hour
of their choosing and to a bitter end.)

I believe it is being reported that under oath, Steven Miller admitted that he instructed IRS agents to go after Tea Party groups.

So, Tyranny is being shown the light of day.

How fun.
