The object does not appear to be a balloon as most balloons don't go that high. It does not look like a weather balloon either because of it's shape. Blimps don't appear to be a big possibility as blimps usually do not go higher than about 5000 feet.

RC aircraft can be pretty much ruled out because of the height the video was taken from. Drones however, is a possibility.

There also appears to be some sunlight reflecting off the object, so it's most likely a real object. Perhaps metallic.

It doesn't look like CGI, but I'm looking to get some opinions from experts on CGI.

(The object appears at around 0:25.)

For those watching the vid, it comes in to view at the 25sec mark.

I'm not sure what it is. I have ruled out weather balloon because of the dark colour. Though I have only ever seen a white weather balloon.

Interesting indeed.

I remember seeing this in another thread here a while back. Can't recall whether an explanation was decided upon, but there was a lot of discussion.

Indeed, this video was briefly mentioned in the thread "HD video of UFO Stalking Chilean Jets Over Santiago Air Base, page 22 next year by member "pla123".

Unfortunately, the original Youtube uploader was "crazybreakingnews", which is ... well ... not good news:
- Link 1 (thanks to Gortex)
- Link 2 (thanks to cybersk8er)
- Link 3 (thanks to freelance_zenarchist)

Check out also this excellent thread that show how hoaxers work.

Hmm, didn't know there were other threads on this.

Mods, please lock this thread.

By the way, gortex, I may disagree with you, but I like the avatar, I remember you having it a few years back.

I don't think this is legit. If the poster of the video had any common sense, they would not include little snippets of their recordings into a condensed form. Why not include the entire clip where the object appears into view rather than the object already being there. That makes me believe they were trying to hide any editing in the video while performing object manipulation.

I call FAKE.

To mee it seems logical that the clip is like it is. I too can film short snippets now and then, to have a "time lapse" of my trip. When it comes to the object I'm leaning towards plane or balloon.

The good news is "crazybreakingnews" abandoned their channel and is no longer pumping out hoax videos of white dots for YouTube $$$. I'd consider that a win.

A half black and half light object seems to be the way UFOs show up.

A few examples.

I think you meant to say "A few examples of Mylar balloons."
