WTF? Do you have an economist insights from non-Socialists?

We don't need corporate tax OR DIRECT personal income taxes!! Who gives a crap about offsetting PIT when that is just as bad??!!

Oh, you mean from CAPITALIST PIG sources? Nope, nothing to offer for their part.
Alternet is regarded to be one of the better alternative news sources.

The article is talking about forcing the government to hold cheaters (within and without) accountable.
What is SOCIALIST about that?

Nothing.

And you still haven't answered the real questions about the ethics and morals of it. Did Jesus put you on "hold" while you were thinking about it?

You could go ask Mitt Romney, though - he'd be on your side until Jesus gets to your call for a proper answer. Or Jamie Dimon. He da man!
(Both soulless bastards)

Did Jesus put you on "hold" while you were thinking about it?

That’s not nice.

I know the author is suspect when he/she uses the term “1%”. Haven’t we gotten past the class warfare stuff yet? This issue is about how governments taxes corporations. I don’t want a witch hunt going after the so-called “1%”, whoever that is.

No, it's not nice, and NuT knows damned well what I'm talking about!! He dishes it out at a level of "expert" for sarcasm and denigration and double-standards, when he calls himself a true Christian, and there is NOTHING Christ-like about class warfare OR corporate thievery OR government collusion.

Nor is there anything "socialist" about it.

How can we be "over" class warfare when it's still the main problem?

But you're right. He knows how to yank my chain, and I let him by trying to talk to him. So, I better go. Sorry for letting my human frailty show and compassion getting the better of me.

I am no fan of Obama, but he is in a tough spot. He's in the kind of damned if he does, damned if he doesn't spot. The right isn't going to like him not matter what he does, but it looks like he's not going to be able to do enough to make the far left happy either..

I am no fan of either of them.
People need to realize that there is no difference between what puppet is put in power.
Your referencing the right or the left, gives the puppet masters power as if the common Leftist or Rightist American has any say in what is taking place.

The Propaganda and Cheap Slogans shouted by our "Leaders" only help to keep us divided and the power stays in the same hands.

Things like, "Hope and Change" Wall Street Banker Puppet Obama, or "They hate us for our freedoms" Military Industrial Complex" Bush.

See how it works?

I thought we defined the problem?

Pitting “rich against poor” isn’t going to solve anything. Look who is instigating that nonsense; Obama! That alone should tell you it’s BS. He’s a hypocrite! Do I need to remind you how much money Obama has raised for his 2 campaigns (nearly 2 BILLION) and how many backs he’s scratched? HE is the LEADER of the problem IMO.

Well, I've already acknowledged my disillusionment of Obama. Publicly.

I just don't see how you can extract class warfare from this country's problems - or the world's for that matter.

The problem is abuse of power, plain and simple. The problem is when someone doesn't agree with this administration's agenda the sycophantic thugs try to shut them up. The truth hurts when it hits home. Ask the press.

the abuse of power does not come from poor people, that's plain and simple. it is class warfare, and the wealthy have already won it. when the wealthy start talking about how to control population growth, do you think they are talking about the wealthy having too many kids?

Your response has absolutely NOTHING to do with the abuse of power by this administration being brought out into the light of day. Nice attempt to distract the conversation away from topic. FAIL

Actually, jimmyx's post is on topic - it IS abuse of power, and the POOR do NOT have any power to abuse...
If you're trying to excuse the crimes of the wealthy, then you're distracting from the topic as well. The two issues are very much intertwined, inextricably so. Obama is rich, and he's the one who's supposed to be doing things about justice and problem solving. He's also a Constitutional Lawyer - which makes him as scummy as the banksters if he's allowing power to be abused (and he is).

I understand that Congress has to make the laws and fix the tax codes, however, so no matter what he talks about - he has only limited "power" over them, and he's not doing a very good job of stopping the train.

And what truth are you talking about? The "truth" that you heard on the five?
Please tell us what truth you are referring to, because Republicans are also some big bullsh!tters

I don't see why the Right continues to rag on Obama. He is doing exactly the same things neocon Bush did, which is bow down to his corporate, warmongering, banker, wall street masters; following in the footsteps if "W" marching headlong into corporate fascism. And the Right wing loved Bush and defended every policy he made. I would think the Right would be singing Obama's praises!!! Must be something else why he is so hated eh?
And calling him a socialist/commi just shows how ignorant and uninformed some on the Right are. Obama is the uber corpratist/capitalist and spearheading the war on the poor, all the while paying lip service to them. Brilliant political strategy btw!!!

Abuse of power? Who instituted the DHS anyway? Who profits from that? Always follow the money and don't let your ideology get in the way of your common sense.

Does the abuse of power include the information shown below? There's your true abuse of power and I seriously doubt if the poor had anything to with it.

Who is pitting the rich against the poor Seabag?

It is not the poor. The poor have no power nor representation in DC.

Obama is surrounded by Wall Street Bankers that put him in power, that he claimed he would rein in.
Instead, Wall Street has never had better days with Obama as the helm.

It looks like the problem is quite obvious.
Washington has been hijacked by Wall Street, Large Corporations and the Military Industrial Complex.

They are the ones that created the mess, and none of these large entities want to take responsibility for what they have done to this country, and instead point their fingers at people that don't have the $$$ to buy political power like they do.

edit on 25-5-2013 by jacobe001 because: (no reason given)

The problem is not going to go away as long as politicians are for sell, or the revolving door that exists between these large entities and the government regardless of who is president.

I think a lot of folks expected some wall street and campaign reform, but all we got was attempted gun control and giving weapons to the muslim brotherhood 4000 miles away when our economy is sinking, sinking, sinking, TITANIC STYLE!

I don't think the man is obtuse. He looks to be rather smart, so my only guess is he was bull#ting about "hope and change" while planning to ram his globalist agenda down everyones collective throat.

How can people be employed and the social welfare coffers get full with tons of illegals entering daily and so much outsourcing and automation? Has he tried tariffs? Has he loosened some redundant or otherwise unnecessary restrictions to conduct trade within the USA? What has he done to keep jobs within the USA border, much less bring back jobs to USA?

And we spend, spend, spend, spend into oblivion with bailouts packages to big business, when in capitalism YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BAIL THEM OUT! How about giving the tax payers some bailouts? I forgot the federal reserve dictatorship will not allow it!

And romney would have done the same stuff guaranteed. The republicans sabotaged the ron paul campagin and stole the republican nomination. Then obama and romney was a no brainer. Its like voting between satan and beezlebug, beezlebug being the lesser of two evils, but barely.

The 1% are indeed the problem and some of those 1% are also federal reserve stockholders and full time bilderbergers. If you want to get technical and silly should it be the .0001% to make you feel happy? The really rich support the uber rich.

When mainstream politicians play the tax game they imply upper middle class should pay for lower middle class. The tax brackets are not adjusted properly and the rates are too high for such levels. What do people do with their billions of dollars? Do they buy more mansions and more suits or do they spend it to influence government? I know the answer.....

I know that. That's why I said its Obama drumming up the class warfare and its a farce. You quoted me saying that.

Class warfare/class envy is a distraction while they continue their crony capitalism.

If you keep throwing around the stupid OWS buzz words you won't be taken seriously.

The problem is our government which sold out. Stop saying "1%" and go after the people who make laws that benefit the uber-wealthy.
