Yep, you're exactly right...about a majority blowing their winnings.
Some have claimed it brought family problems too.
We met a couple several years ago that won the Louisiana lottery for $16 million I believe it was.
The lady wrote a check for some stuff she bought from us and when I asked her for her work number, she hesitated and said that she was sorta
unemployed.
I caught on to her shyness and I said "
Sorta unemployed?"
That's when she told us that her and her husband won the lottery.
Of course, my husband and I were eager to hear her story and she told us, if we were ever to win, wait before you turn in the ticket.
First, change your phone number. She said they had to change their number several times. People from all over come out of the woodwork......not to
mention relatives you didn't know you had.
Then get you an army of lawyers/accountants.
They had formed a corporation by including their parents, I believe for tax purposes.
They waited nearly a month before they claimed their prize, once they got their ducks in a row.
She admitted that emotionally, they were kinda sick that first week or 2 when reality set in that they were instant millionaires.
We all kid from time to time about what we would do if we won, I think most of us know deep down we never will...
BUT...................what if?
The most I ever won was $100....
Usually it's nothing or $3-7 bucks
