Sunspot Blasting Out Major Solar Flares Will Face Earth Soon

(Yahoonews)-The super-active sunspot responsible for unleashing the three most powerful solar flares of 2013 within a 24-hour stretch this week is slowly rotating toward Earth and will likely be facing our planet by the weekend, experts say.

These solar explosions did not affect Earth, since AR1748 was not facing our planet at the time. But the sunspot is now circling into view, so future flares and any associated eruptions of super-hot solar plasma — called coronal mass ejections (CMEs) — could potentially target our planet, scientists say. Im not all that good at the spacy side of things.
Saw this story,thought it interesting,so i posted it.
I'd guess its alot of what ifs,and not doom and gloom.

Yep. What it says is true.
It's Russian roulette when these Earth directed
monsters rotate into our footprint .

However, the Carrington Event in the 1800's
was an X50 if I remember correctly
and it fried some telegraph wires.
Luckily, it does take from hours to days for CME's to arrive.
And most of the planets' major electrical grids
have a plan in place, to power down if it gets really bad.

One more however..
However...
the Sun is by far the most dangerous Solar System body.
It's a ball of Superheated gas and magnetism, and probably could belch
hard enough to snuff the whole planet to cinder..so there's that.
