CFR's Jolie has both breast removed without yet having cancer. Didn't anyone slip her the memo?

Maybe she should have gotten a second opinion?

Women with a defect in BRCA1 have on average a 65% risk of developing breast cancer.
www.guardian.co.uk...

Most of the true elites are hardly famous, outside of conspiracy theorist circles.

Funny thing about that 23andme banner ad, about 5 minutes after I thought of it, I was opening ATS in another browser to see that crazy "living ice" video (Flash disabled in main browser I use) and there it was. At that point I just had to do all of this.

It's called personalized therapy. My mom gets cancer and Moffitt Cancer Center racks up a $.5M bill to only give her the worst treatment money could buy. The "rich and famous", for roughly the same money will get treatments that the Moffitt mad doctors refer to as "promising" "future" medicine. They have it right now. The software I'm developing to unlock everything in a meaningful way for everyone, the 2,766,051 pages of cancer chemistry / science, at PubMed.gov, they already have these tools and more (that's a long discussion).

This thread is about A. Jolie's choice of surgery to prevent breast cancer; in order to prolong her life to be here for her children.

It is not about how attractive she is; you are way off topic!

Does she really need a second opinion to tell her that her mother was affected by the disease?

It does run in the Genes regardless of what any test says.

Im pretty sure if there was a cure for cancer Steve Jobs wouldnt have died.

Just because you're rich doesn't mean you're in "The Club".

Meanwhile there's no such thing as "the cure" for "cancer". That's the entirely wrong way to think about this. Cancer isn't some singular thing. It's very complex. But these scientists know far more than the doctors we interface with would have us think.

Bombarding patients bodies with singular chemicals, when the cancers they have are complex chemistry that require multiple choking/killing chemical mechanisms. In effect, they're waging scortched earth campaigns on tiny islands, already afflicted with soil erosion, that only need the right set of diverse plants and trees for phytoremediation (my analogy).

Home wrecker?? She can come through my doors at anytime.....

You wouldn't think about the procedure if you had flawless flesh mounds like this goddess.....

Wow its clear by your comments on this thread, that your interactions with women are relegated to internet porn , maxim magazine, and staring at women from afar...

Anyone with any amount of self respect, and respect for women, who have had any amount of personal relationships that werent restricted to escorts, or destructive behavior.......would never talk like that.....

Learn some respect for women man, this isnt a butcher shop

That being said, I dont blame her, its preventative and shes getting new ones...........I say more power to her, thats a very very very hard decision to make....

Ive had 2 members of my family die from breast cancer, it is an ever growing and serious problem

This should be a thread applauding Angelina Jolie for doing this, it is such a difficult decision for any woman. She has done this so she can spend more time with her family and she has made it public to raise awareness.

This thread should not be about suggesting there is some kind of nefarious conspiracy at play or talking about the woman like she is a sex object, yes she is beautiful but some of the comments regarding her breasts have been in very bad taste.

I for one really admire her for this.

Good for her, if it makes her more comfortable, no one should really question her decision.

I don't believe there are "secret" treatments only certain people get. Now, they can surely get the absolute best care because they can afford it, but there is nothing "secret" or "backroom" about it.

Good for you....On topic yet again with nothing added!

Yes we know about her breast cancer awareness thoughts here....Thanks for reminding me

There is testing for this problem
she thinks she has.....If detected early, she could consider this process then....I just don't see the reason to jump the gun......

From what I understand she did take the test...and had an 87% chance of getting breast cancer...so she elected to get the surgery.

By the way her getting this surgery is not a hoax; she has been on the news today; and so has this story.

So 'these' scientists AND all the doctors are in on this secret but Steve Jobs with all his billions and worldwide resources couldnt find out about this cure. But you know about it ..so you are basing these assumptions on what exactly?

I am a male.
It didn't make me mad. I was just pointing out his disrespect.

However with his responses it is quite clearly a reflection of his character. That speaks mountains. I am Very Certain that if he posts with that Mentality here, I can only imagine the amount of disrespect he shows his wife.

As far as A. Jolie goes. I think she is doing what is in her best interest and No One can fault her for that.

Okay, you got me, so maybe I baited in the OP just a teencie weencie bit. But if you look at my followup comments in this thread you might see a clearer picture. My usage of the word "backroom" was merely as a soundbite. I oversimplified my take on cancer in the OP, and am kind of embarrassed actually.
