We've got tickets for Philly Comic Con 2013.

(As long as my health holds up ... I'll be going!
)

I'm doing the Dr. Who thing ....
I think my husband will be doing the Zombie Apocolypse thing ...

Thinking about getting VIP tickets to meet William Shatner.
James Marsters is going to be there too .... I really dig Spike.
(my age is showing!
)
Stan Lee will be there. Awesome!!

Anyone go to ComicCon?

Better get in line for Stan early... I was at DragonCon last year, and that line was INSANE. James Marsters is a pretty nice guy, or seemed it at least. I'm sure that meet and greet with Shatner will cost you. I met Michelle Nichols last year, along with Levar Burton and Michael Dorn (Star Trek alumni), along with many others.

That is the nice thing about conventions, meeting some of your favorite celebs, especially if it's in a "downtime" setting. I got to chat quite a bit with one of my childhood crushes, Erin Gray (aka Wilma Dearing on Buck Rogers). We got a nice group photo with the cast of True Blood, and my wife got a lot more photos with some of her hunky faves.

I'd highly recommend these conventions at least once, as it is quite an experience.

I'm really hoping we can go to the San Diego ComicCon next year. We'll see if we can swing it. That's a bit more for us, due to the flying and all, whereas we can drive to Atlanta for DragonCon each year.

We met Michelle Nichols one year .. heard her sing.
I'm told that there is a RingCon in Germany.
My daughter would LOVE that. She's big into Lord of the Rings.

Went last year in NYC for the first time and enjoyed the hell out of it. I want to go to Philly for it.

This year Aaron Douglas (Chief Tyrol from BSG) will be attending
I LOVE going to cons, a gathering of all like minded Geeks from the area

Have fun at Comic Con and tell William Shatner DENNY CRANE!!!

Walking around Comic Con we saw ..... Stan Lee (Happy grandpa type) .... William Shatner (seemed very tired) .... Keven Sorbo (tall and still in good shape) ... Henry Winkler (warm smile) ... Holly Marie Combes ('piper' on charmed - pleasant) ... Brian Krause ('leo' on charmed - pleasant) ... James Marsters ('spike' on buffy - still cool!) ... Lauren Holly (very nice) ... and Lou Ferrigno (just in passing).

I got coughed on by a Klingon. I hope I don't get sick!!

My daughter spent all her graduation gift money at the Convention.

AWESOME costumes .. especially noteworthy were the Game of Thrones costumes.

My husband and daughter ate at Reading Terminal Market afterwards.
(I can't ... I need 'special food' ... but it was still fun going in)

I'm wiped out. I'll probably be in bed extra early tonight.
