Proving the assumptions of every goateed slacker who's ever ostentatiously hacked his way through "Knockin' on Heaven's Door", new research shows that carrying a guitar can increase the chances of getting a date by nearly a third. Researchers at the University of South Brittany also concluded that 31 percent of women are more likely to give their number to a man carrying a guitar — double the number that would give their number to the same man if he were sans six-string. Finally, in a cruel irony, it turns out that the guitar effect only works for men: Women aren't seen as more or less attractive when carrying an instrument. Double standard!

We all knew it was true.

My biggest question (besides how acurate is this story, exactly) would be:

Are Women really this superficial?

So let me adress the female persuasion:

If some dude walks up to you carrying a guitar and asks for your phone number what do you do?

A) fawn like a schoolgirl and buy him lunch and a new video game.

or

B) Treat him like any other dude carrying a guitar.

I just want to get a sense of how accurate this study is. Not because I want to start carrying a guitar around to impress women (c'mon I'm not George Costanza... erm...) but because I want to know are Women really this shallow?

Oh and also, what about the Drummer?

Sadly enough its very true...

Girls love musicians... It seems one of the best afrodisiac's is a guitar...

Better yet... if you play in a band... and even better if that so called "band" actually gets gigs.

Said people don't even have to be decent looking either...

Its not really that women are shallow... its like men and bikini's

I will say this friend...
I grew up with a dad that was very musically talented. So I did go for more guys that were musically talented just so they would have something in common with my dad! Funny though, I ended up with a guy that has no musical talent what so ever, except his voice, he has a very nice singing voice

And I will tell ya this...drummers were at the top of my list
they have a lot of energy and can um...last a long time

Peace and love

Once had a friend that related a story to me.

He went out clubbing with another guy that had a BMW M3.
They pulled out front of the Cameo club on South Beach.
The guy said, "watch this".

He proceeded to get out of the car and yell. Which of you ghetto ass ho's wants to come over here and holla at me.

And two girls came over.

I'm not making judgement. Just relaying the story. You make your own opinions.

Hey, nat.

I can understand going for a guy that you actually know plays guitar but would you just hand over your digits to some dude on the street just because he is holding a guitar?

just seems silly to me...

Oh, wow man.

Those girls must have had really low self-esteem.

If I was a woman and some dude ( I don't care if he was driving the effing batmobile) adressed me in such a way I would just be all like 'I don't want no scrubs'

OOF... You had me rather worried for a minute there, well i guess we all made mistakes when we were young

One thing i just love at the moment is getting that old triumph (1976) out and having a run through the countryside with the warm sunny days now here... Just thinking about this... i was only 10 years old when that bike was made... OMG!

Have a great evening/day/afternoon folks...

Time for me to hit the sofa with Mrs R

Kindest respects

Rodinus
