There's gonna be an airshow here tomorrow. Well, if the rain holds off and right now, it doesn't look promising.

Airshow

We're just across the road from the airport and right now, there are a pair of old war birds flying around at about twice treetop level.

I love these things. They were once cutting edge... with the most powerful prop engines ever made. The sound they make as they fly over just gives me goosebumps. No lie. I love WW2 era aviation.

I don't care if it is pouring rain tomorrow... even if they can't fly, I'm gonna meander over to see these great birds.

Okay... that's my general chit-chat subject for the day, lol.

Airshow are cool.

Have you ever gotten to see a B-2 Stealth Bomber fly over? Those things are creepy.
They're just completely unlike anything else, I got goosebumps when one flew over my head.

I had to respond to a Blue Angel crash at the last airshow I went to, so I try to avoid them now if I can.

Nope... never seen a B-2 but back about 2005 (or so) we were at an air show in Columbus, Georgia next to Fort Benning. Towards the end, they had an F-86 Sabre flying around so low you could see the pilot wave as he blew by. Then as we were packing up, from behind us this growling sound...

It was a B-1 Lancer escorted by a pair of F-117s on either side. Went right over us and I had already put my camera back in the case!!

That was the one I remember most.

Prolly the last for today, a pair of Cobra gunships just flew over.

Amazing aircraft considering how they came into being so long ago. Today's versions are only surpassed by the Apache gunships.

On a sidenote, there were a pair of V-22 Ospreys that visited last summer. I have no idea why except maybe to recruit from the university here. Those are quite a site in flight!
