I guess I see "As above, So below" as referring to the rinse-repeat structure that is objective reality.

Nothing ever repeats.

And this fact is critical to understand, even as the mysterious emergent systems that appear at various development junctures seem to divide reality into a series of separate "here" and "there" with conflicting "natural law" tenets.

Have you ever not been 'here'?
'There' is an idea that appears 'here'!

Nothing ever repeats.

Everything repeats, if given enough time.

Have you ever not been 'here'?
'There' is an idea that appears 'here'!

And 'here' is an idea that appears 'there'! What's your point?

i have always believed that the statement AS ABOVE SO IS BELOW is related to atoms .

looking at an atom under a microscope it looks like a planet system with the sun in the centre and neighbouring planets surrounding it .

Yes. But it is far more profound than that. You see, the axiom is indicating that what is holistic contains a universal pattern in which every component of the Whole is structured according to this Whole, whatever the scale (and by that I do not just mean 'spatial').

The hermetic axiom "as above, so below" has a strict, mathematical meaning that was discovered several years ago by a British theoretical physicist in his mathematical analysis of ancient sacred geometries. If one thinks of a scale-invariant fractal and then applies the analogy to all possible levels of consciousness, so that consciousness itelf has a fractal quality, one discovers this. It is a map of all levels of reality, including the space-time continuum. What the physicist discovered is that:
1. this global map of reality is isomorphic to well-known representations of the spiritual cosmos, like the Tree of Life (Otz Chiim) and Sri Yantra. In other words, they ALL map the SAME set of realities!;
2. Analogous domains of this representation (and others equivalent to it) are parametrized by the same numbers, which is very remarkable, indeed, because it indicates an undeniable cosmic design is at work here, expressing itself in a harmonious interplay of geometry and number. Moreover, the same numbers are found in other representations of spiritual reality because they are isomorphic to it - manifesting with a frequency that makes highly implausible the possibility of their being due to chance.

An example of the principle "As above, so below" at work is the following: working on the E8xE8 heterotic superstring theory, the physicist found that superstrings are bundles of 10 vortex rings, each a standing wave of 1680 circularly polarised oscillations. He found that exactly the SAME number occurs in the mathematical description of a higher (but fundamentally analogous) reality:

Microscopic and macroscopic levels of reality (the former so far beyond our conception, the latter so small as to be equally unimaginable) therefore embody this same number (and certain other parameters of holistic systems as well) because they bear a formal analogy to each other. The mathematical isomorphism extends deeply throughout the "meta-mathematics" discovered by this physicist - so much so in fact that it can no longer be denied, so obvious is it.

The ancient hermetic principle "as above so below" therefore, has a profound mathematical basis. What it means is that the most basic object in the universe - the superstring (yes, it DOES exist, despite all the doubters out there) has a structure whose pattern is found in other examples of holistic systems, e.g., the seven diatonic, musical scales. There is but ONE universal, cosmic pattern and even consciousness itself is differentiated according to it. The nature of this pattern has been discovered (see here) and shown to manifest in superstrings and the interval composition of the seven musical scales, as well in human DNA. It is mapped in a number of well-known sacred geometries, as well as in the ancient Chinese I Ching system of 64 hexagrams. The conceptual bridge between consciousness and matter has been constructed, linking together things that most people still think are unrelated.

Wow, nice research. Do you know if those models have anything to do with the Torus universal model, including polar vortices focused at the input and output points?
