Two solar flare of M class today from big sunspot 1745

Solar flare of M 3.9 at 00:57 UTC and last one of M 1.3 at 12:56 UTC ..

Both CME's were not Earth directed, sunspot 1745 just coming in our view ..

Well now, that's one obnoxious little fella, isn't it? Maybe the Sun is tired of being back page to Earth news and wants back up near the A1 section, eh? It'll get it this way, to be sure! Thanks for the heads up! I stopped checking my flux charts on a daily basis awhile back. I guess I'd started to take for granted that the ball of fire was going a bit quiet here lately. It can always wake right back up, eh?

These two flares you described are not coming from sunspot 1745 but from returning sunspot 1726...But it's definitely something to watch in the next 24h^^

The return of old Sunspot 1726 is looking good in terms of higher solar activity. Another M-Class flare, this time peaking at M1.3 was just detected at 12:56 UTC. This region will continue to rotate into view over the next 24 hours.

I'm getting impatient. I want some great northern lights. How come the good CMEs always to be on the other side of the sun.

One more solar flare of X class from sunspot 1748 , stronger from last one now it's X 2.8 ..

Wow it's a huge sunspot complex group 1748, just coming in our view but already producing very strong CME's and solar flares of X 1.7 & X 2.8 ..

Now I guess we just wait an see if it keeps kicking and screaming as it crests the limb, or like has happened a lot lately the magnetics break down, and it decays as soon as it faces us.

This spot I feel will be a true test for some of the people watching the sun do what it does, and the further theory that odd happenings are taking place, do to the fact that when monster spot turns in they stay quiet until its about to leave the party.

As I said I guess we just wait and see, if this one stays active though, and right on the equator of the sun maybe all those like us will get one heck of a show, lotsa SDO watching over the next little bit.

We have one more flare of X class from complex group 1748, also stronger from last one X 3.2 ..

Think we will see more strong activity from this sunspot complex group ..

11748 looks similar not too many changes ..

We got one more X flare ..

We probably will have more strong activity from this sunspot complex group, in some 3-4 days 1748 will be in our direction ..
