www.dnainfo.com...

I did not know that the Museums of Chicago could not even display a firearm?

CHICAGO — The city's most powerful alderman — Edward Burke (14th) — introduced an ordinance at Wednesday's City Council meeting that would allow Chicago museums to display unloaded firearms for historical purposes.

This is weird that someone would have to put forward an ordinance in the first place IMO.

Kids drawing guns on paper and getting expelled or making hand signals that look like a pistol making Drudge report...What a bunch of idiots.

Currently, city museums are prohibited from lawfully displaying firearms of historic value, according to the city's long-standing gun ordinance.

Considering that so much of this country's history is military history, that law seems completely idiotic.

Also, how are they supposed to show the city's history of gang warfare during prohibition without displaying at least one Tommy-gun?

No kidding! The irrational fear of inanimate objects is a disease. The attempt at reprogramming/writing of history always amazes me. Have a car museum with no cars or a museum of ancient man without his flint tipped spears; Ok whatever you say boss.....
