Submarine volcano explodes

Off the shores of American Samoa.

Perhaps part of the supervolcano forming below the Pacific?

Researchers have unveiled stunning new pictures of a volcanic eruption deep underwater.

Video released by the national oceanic and atmospheric administration shows whats described by researchers as a deep sea eruption.

It happened about 4000 feet underneath the surface of the ocean off the coast of American Samoa.

The video was shot by a submersible robot during an underwater expedition.

Scientists hope the images data and samples obtained will shed new light on how the oceans crust was formed and how the earth behaves when tectonic plates collide.

Could you provide a link or source discussing this supervolcano, and what would lead you to believe this other volcano might be part of or related to it?

The supervolcano that is forming in the Pacific Ocean is being created by partly molten rock and would not erupt into an extinction level event supposedly until a long, long time from now. See map below for overlap of areas.

Thank god it's not a super mega ultra turbo low velocity zone. Then we'd be in truoble.

And the oceans are heating up because...could it be volcanoes? If these are going off but we don't know they are like the ones waking up on land is this the real cause? How many underwater ones are up in Alaska heating up the permafrost, just a thought?

That sub-marine super volcano isn't an immediate threat. It can happen any time but they are looking at long distance probabilities. Someday it will probably happen and it does need to be studied, but the chances of it happening in the next thousand years are slim.
