It's 4.39 light years away. Wikipedia calls it Rigel Kent.
We need to get the names straight.
ATS can do better than Alberta Alauda.

They had to pay $5 to vote?

Omicron Persei 8

- Of course the ruler is " Lrrrr " no need for full scale invasions just yet!

Omicron Persei

Omicron Persei is perhaps best known from the animated television series Futurama, where it is the solar system of the Omicronians- a race of giant horned toad creatures. Its eighth planet is ruled by the despotic leader, Lrrr, who loudly and frequently announces the name of his home system. It has been featured in other science fiction including Star Trek, Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Transformers.

Nibiru + something Greek for style? That one sounds pretty good.

Homius Rabbitus.

Unless of course, something really bad happens with it, then we'll have to name it Maximus Fuddius.

Yes, something Greek. Then a number. It would help if we knew it had water on it.
I'm thinking of the movie Dune.

Well, Rigel Amanda 3 sounds better than Alberta Alauda.
We need to know how many planets are between the new planet and the sun
Alpha Centauri B. Is there a Venus , Mercury?
