Let me straighten this out. I did not call Obama Hitler. Nope. I even hesitated when creating this thread on whether I should or not and sorry, I am not scared to make comparison based on what was said.

I am comparing to Obama someone who was extremely charismatic, who led a nation out of poverty with 'change' and did it for their own political 'party' gain. Like my avatar says, 'read a book' and ' learn your history'. If the Nazis were so bad, why is VW still around? Or Daimler Benz who made war machines that killed 1000's upon 1000's of people. You see, it is hypocritical and as history has always shown, those who win the wars write the history books. Not all Germans were evil, but most people are not educated enough to know the difference. They hear Hitler and think EVIL...

Take Hitler out of the equation and what argument do you have? The president of the United States is telling people to not listen to those who question the government. That's it. If you are indoctrinated to not question the government, it is easier for said government to pass laws to take away your rights because you trust and believe and do not question.

You have to win the hearts and minds of those you want to control, and this guy is giving this speech a few days after he blamed his own country, who he is the leader of, for all the gun deaths in Mexico. Is no one actually listening?

We are a dirty bomb away from the end. This is a lame duck president who was nothing to lose and those who fund him know this. There is nothing to lose but the foundation of our country. If you think it is antiquated and the constitution needs to be changed, then we have a problem. It has been eroded to the point that there is almost nothing left. Each generation, those again who fund the nation, have gotten closer and closer.

The US has changed even since I was a kid. Tell on your neighbor not ask him if he needs help. Live in fear of terror attacks and let us, the government protect your in the streets. Pay so much tax that you need us to get by, and last part of this equation was to get the trust of minorities.

If you want to sign up, go here....your path to government benefits? How about a path to freedom and the right to a pursuit of happiness we can achieve by ourselves?

Wasn't Obama once one of those voices warning us that there was something wrong with the Government? Now that he is doing the same thing as his predecessors, we shouldn't question it?

What a strange thing to say to graduates. It does deserve scrutiny. There are other comparisons to pre World War II such as with guns and to hear you make a comparison here is good if for nothing else, critical thinking. It would have been enough to just say "take responsibility for your future and participate in the solution". He is such a salesman with his speeches. It's all about "change". Change to a government controlled society rather than a socially controlled government.

We need more critical thinking than 'common sense' in our country today.

S & F OP.

I can't believe he said that. It's ass backward and he's a constitutional lawyer! He knows how important it is for society to be involved and aware of it's own government decisions and actions.

It leaves an uneasy feeling - about the future.

You could say the same thing for 1933 Hitler and 1939 Hitler though.

Let me give you 10 parallels. These were found in the book Theodore and Woodrow by Andrew Napolitano. I would suggest you read it. I took these all out of specific chapters. It is not about Nazi Germany, but how the US since the early 1900's has put in motion where we are now. In there, it used Germany, Italy, Russia and China as the template to bring about Facism and Socialism to control the masses.....

1. Nazi Germany was a totalitarian state that monitored everything that German citizens did - Pick an acronym (DHS,IRR,FBI,ATF,ICE) or look up from your smartphone (which is monitored) to see all of the cameras that monitor you.

2. Nazi officials often used their positions of power to force others to do dehumanizing things - The TSA frisking children in wheelchairs and pulling aside old people but not profiling Ahmed because it is not politically correct. Police taking children from homes with no cause..(California recently)

3. In Nazi Germany, children were treated like nothing more than a number - In schools, your children have not rights and neither do you. They can question them WITHOUT your consent or another adult present. If they 'feel' you as a parent did something wrong or the child mentions a 'bong' you are done. See #2 . If you have children, make sure you know what they are reading in school. I actually 'reeducate' my children because of the garbage that is in the books that are printed and controlled by those bringing in these changes.

4. In Nazi Germany, authorities could stop you and search you at any time and for any reason - See Boston

5. Under Adolf Hitler, there were massive increases in government spending - Big government is needed to control every aspect of your life. DHS reduced the number of government agencies but Obamacare added more than 150. How many czars have been 'appointed'. See #2 again.

6. Under Hitler, taxes were raised dramatically in order to pay for new social programs the people 'needed' - See Obamacare. "I promise, no one making under 250k will have their taxes raised...we all saw our checks this year, right???

7. In Nazi Germany, government regulation of business was out of control - I offer the story of MIchelle Berry. She was an private owner of a small day care in FLint, MI. She was forced in 2009 to join the Child Care Providers Together Michigan union. She did not want too. However, as soon as she did, the Michigan DHS started to take dues out of the child care subsidies she received. Without her consent, she became a faux government employee. Look it up....

8. In Nazi Germany, the health care system was taken over by the government - See Obamacare

9. In Nazi Germany, education was nationalized and God was kicked out of the schools.- All we need do is look at the fringe. I mean, they are trying to get religion out of the Armed services.

10. In Nazi Germany, it became fashionable to mock Christians and the Christian faith - See my previous post.

You see, they all go together. Replace Nazi Germany with the US and Adolf HItler with Barry Sorento and you will get the point.

The fact that he even humors the idea is enough to get my attention. If he's addressing a young group of easily influenced adults about this, then i now realize he realizes how pissed the American public is quickly becoming.

He was a "professor" on Constitutional law; not a lawyer (he was a 'civil rights' lawyer). He never argued a Constitutional case. Even then, he was a "senior lecturer"; whatever that is but it was a semantic game and the university came to the aid of President Obama on that claim.

Either way, his words are a far cry from say, Dwight Eisenhower or Ronald Reagan or John F. Kennedy or George Washington or ....; you get the idea.

Indeed dangerous advice. I would have accepted it if it were more tempered to not be persuaded by fringes of each side, but that isn't his game.

Good point, Obama.

The government is not the source of all of our problems, the government and also the economy are by and large dictated by behavioral patterns of the population as a whole. A politically apathetic people will be susceptible to corrupt reps and unaccountable agencies.

Government has killed over 250 million people in the last 110 years.

A lot of this and that gets said over the internet, but how many of the people here are out physically improving the knowledge level of their locality? I'm not, so you know what? I deserve a corrupt government and economy. Because, it wouldn't take a huge number of people in a given location to contradict the trend of an easily manipulated population. If people were to get out of their chairs and actually go outside to real people near by and start some kind of initiative toward higher individual/community empowerment, then before you know it a higher ethic society would probably pick up steam and maybe we'd get somewhere.

NDAA and the monsanto protection act...you mean like that empowerment?

Talking about this stuff on the internet is fine, but the density of informed people remains low because a person has to have a certain amount of awareness to question the situation and end up on a site like this in the first place. What we need is true action in the real world creating masses of people who want to change the situation, develop pocket markets of higher culture which will inevitably produce a wider trend rapidly with a solid intellectual product to build off of.

We then we'll be branded as terrorists.

Obama's right, the slow political process shouldn't discourage people from the possibility of swift improvements... our society and culture is driven by the market, not the elections.

Obama signs death warrants to kill innocent bystanders in drone attacks and signed the monsanto protection act

Former cia employee "Obama" is doing a great job for the globalist nwo, wall street, and MICartels.

He's murdered innocent people.
He (along with Bush) bribed wall street with us tax money.
He started multiple mini-wars and with the help of alCIAda.

Thanks for the correction. I probably should be taking notes - or maybe join a free online course on political science. I've just the basic overhead all college students were required to have - but I went nursing. Whole different focus. I'm worried enough to want to start getting informed. Bring my head out of the clouds some. It's just very disturbing. How do you take it all in without becoming very alarmed?

I think of the implications. What does he mean by saying that? What is he starting or trying to instigate - or insinuate. Maybe I need break from conspiracy theories!

The context from that section of the speech is designed to counteract the national rhetoric coming out of the far right. It's not a surprise Obama targeted one of the demographics, in a key election state, that can be attributed to his parties success.

With a democrat president, republican's are pushing the fear tactic leading up to the midterm elections using the gun control debate while trying to define the Democratic Party. Obama countered with his speech. Its a war of words using revolutionary language and right now the push to gain control of the political rhetoric leading up to next November is here.

That is what our political climate has evolved into over the last 2-3 decades. Politicians have found that people don't want compromise, which is essential to any working government. To compromise is now equated with a lack of principal and unreliability. The 2004 elections where Kerry got pulled through the mud for "flip-flopping" pretty much sealed the deal on that.

great....another post about Obama being compared to hitler, how many is this now?....oh yeah, forgot the posts about Obama being compared to Stalin and the communists...look, you right-wingers don't have anything to worry about, no legislation or laws will get through the house, if Obama is for it.

Yet his speech is a response to fear mongering rhetoric coming out of the far right and is directed at a demographic that has been one of the reasons for the democratic parties resurgence. Its pandering and countering what will define the midterm elections.
