Not sure how many people are having this same problem, but if your browser is only intermittently connecting to sites, and getting a DNS error at other times, it may be because you're using Google's DNS server, which is experiencing problems at the moment.

It took me a while to pin down the problem, but finally switching to OpenDNS solved it immediately.

Why yes I am experiencing laggy difficulty. i came here to see if the ole sun was acting up becasue I saw a youtube vid(must be true
) the other day predicting affects this week from CME.
Anyway, what's up with the DNS? I don't know what that means
Why is the existing one having trouble, and do you guys recommend switching to the one suggested above, and if not, why?

DNS means Domain Name System.

It converts domain names to IP adresses among other things.

It gets you onto and around the internet. Wiki

OpenDNS is an alternative to your ISP's DNS.

It works quite well. I have used it since ATS went down. OpenDNS Wiki

Twice when I opened ATS, my anti-virus software blocked a virus attack.
Did this happen to anyone else?
