Most of you are nuts Stop The Planes well sure but first you would have to know why the needed TO BE STOPPED.

Ummm, we knew why they needed to be stopped.

Its not like we know nothing...

When the planes were being hijacked the pilots let called in, there was nothing to stop the planes.

And, even then. Picking up a plane in a restricted zone on radar = interception and almost imminent termination in just about every part of the US, New York was an acception cause when the planes were picked up on radar, the order was to not do anything.

LOL, ok, you want Apache helicopters in the middle of a city?.... First many people would cry out that "we are under martial law." Second, destroying two passenger aircraft over a metropolitan area will leave as many if not more casualties as if they hit two buildings... Your reasoning is flawed aukaiman. You cannot stop a suicide attack this way.

aukaiman, all the government had were rumors, and they couldn't fully corroborate them since Clinton did a good job of downsizing our intelligence agencies, not only our military.

Even with these rumors, how would we know which flights would be hijacked? and what the targets would be?.... In this case again your reasoning is flawed...you cannot say now... "oh it's easy to know which places they were going to hit..." of course is easy to know "now" which places they were going to hit....they terrorist attacks already happened...

But the number of targets were pretty much unlimited...

They could have hit Wall Street, the Empire State building, The Statue of Liberty, etc etc....

Ok, we are getting sidetracked from the thread.... There are many threads where what you mentioned was discussed, find one of those threads and respond there.

Wow, so our intelligence was so crappy we were defenceless against 15 people who wanted to hijack a few planes?

You ohnestly believe that our government either tried to prevent 9/11, or didn't know about it?

We have the best intelligence in the world.

We knew 9/11 was going to happen.

Bush let it happen.

He was even going to get impeached for it (if you remember a year or so back).

Reality is the key here.

By the way; it is alot easier to put the puzzle together when you have a picture to go by. Just a thought.

There are only a few ways to stop a terrorist attack:

1) Luck

2) Attack and Destroy where they plan and operate. Exaclty what Bush is
doing.

3) Go after Countries that support terrorism

Thats my opinion but i'm not a security specialist.

After watching i have to say, I voted for Bush and i would vote for Bush again. The main reason i did not vote libertarian is because i think the war on terror is VERY important. You may think it is only smoke and mirrors to make us lose our since of security, maybe give up more freedoms for saftey. The example he used that dealt with Airport Security Checks, i am all for it. Something had to be done so it isn't so easy to high jack an airplane and kill thousands of people. It makes since to do something about it. It may be up to the people to take care of themselves but that wasn't the case on those airplanes on Sept 11th. Maybe i am a scared "sheeple" as some of you call it, but better safe than sorry.

P.S. Republicans and Democrates probably are not answering this thread because the majority of Americans are glad the elections are over. They are tired of talking about the same old stuff. Lets get behind Bush and get through the next four years as a team.

Give me a break! That's exactly what my mom would've said. We are not fighitng a war on terrorism as most of you Neo Cons believe. This is a war about oil and drugs. And the end result? Global domination and policing.

Politrix I will never in a million years get behind Bush and support him. Why? I don't support his policies. The only way I will support him is if he changes his policies dramatically. We all know that's not going to happen. And for those who think Bush will succeed in uniting this country, think again.

Bush failed us on 9/11 by not listening to the countless warning that we were going to be attacked. He's failed us in Iraq. Granted we haven't gotten attacked again but keep in mind that he's still giving tax cuts at a time when we're at war regardless if it's right or wrong. And don't get me started on how his tax cuts are only for the rich and the big cooperations. How does that help me?

P.S. I didn't vote for Kerry or Bush. I voted Libertarian.
