You speak for yourself pal!

I'd happily rehome an M4 carbine and 30000 rounds if I could.

Maybe you and others can get together and get laws changed a bit.

I have my doubts on it, but it is a nice thought.

Myself, I do not have need of one for protection from wildlife and I have not hunted since I was a kid. I do enjoy target shooting a variety of firearms though, and I do have firearms for home and personal protection. Thankfully many states recognize my states CCW, I have only one adjoining state that I do not carry in my car or person. Their laws make it so that even if I am carrying it in my car I might as well not be carrying it at all.

My understanding though is that rimfire and shotguns are still available and that handguns and semiautomatic rifles are what are heavily controlled, I guess very similar to the laws in Australia.

You really cant read can you? I have not seen many gun grabbers.

Yes I have seen alot in favour of enforceing safe storage and training. But that not "gun grabbing" that just helping to encourage safe useage!

That’s gun grabbing!! You can’t tell me I have to take a training class to exercise my RIGHT guaranteed by the 2nd amendment!!!! Would anyone be in favor of having to pass a test before being allowed to exercise the right to free speech???

SLAVE!

Yeah...maybe that cause that not what this thread is about! Start another thread and I will have some strong view on it!

Keep dancing! I didn’t figure anyone would have the balz to tackle the inconsistency I pointed out.

You are just as bad as the gun grabbers but in the opposite way. Everything is regulated to an extent!

The second amendment specifically includes *well regulated militias* so you and the other anarchists have a mute point.

Well no cause no one will take your guns away.

I bored talking to you know all I see is a redneck who wants irresponsible gun ownerships and does'nt care who gets hurt.

Responsible gun ownership

Irresponsible gun ownership

At the end of the day people like you will ruin it for all the responsible gun oweners and end up getting a blanket ban.

You see this is the thing. Beleive it or not most of EU is a democracy. Yes there are a few like squarehead666 who would like better gun laws. But in the UK at least the majority dont want people running about with Assualt rifles. That not going to chance unless the majority want it too.

In the Uk if squarehead666 really wants a gun he can fill the forms out and get a hunting rifle or shot gun.

You can’t win any argument by repeating ignorance!

Try and keep up, OK?

District of Columbia v. Heller(2008) was a landmark case in which the Supreme Court of the United States held that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects an individual's right to possess a firearm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home and within federal enclaves.

It was the first Supreme Court case in United States history to decide whether the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms for self-defense.

WE ARE THE MILITIA!! So says the SCOTUS!

I support responsible gun ownership and gun safety. I also support EVERY American’s right to keep and bear arms.

You’re not even American! I can tell because you have no clue what this issue means! You are probably from a European country whose people were neutered by TPTB long ago!

To all American:

At the end of the day people like you will ruin it for all the responsible gun oweners and end up getting a blanket ban.

And the government does not represent the people? Did Obama not win POTUS? The government acts as proxy of the people.

I already explained everything to you again and again. YES the people as a whole compromise the militia.

Are you really an anarchist or what? Why don't you make a big deal about so many other laws we have???

The government regulates via the peoples will. If the people want stricter gun laws they get them, if not then things remain the same or can even go backwards. Its not rocket science!!

The EU might be a democracy superficially but the central bank in germany is way too dictatorial, much like the federal reserve we have in america. The EU government in brussels, World Bank and ECB run the show and that is one of the reasons I think it is good for less stringent laws there. People don't get enough respect.

Ok but at the end of the day the USA is in a similar boat. Sad but true.

The point im trying to make is the EU is not some backward, opressive monachry like some rednecks and isolated americans think it is.

If it’s not rocket science then why is it so damned hard for you to grasp that there is to be NO TEST OR MANDATORY TRAINING to exercise a fundamental right.

This isn’t a democracy…it’s a constitutional republic. Just because people want something doesn’t mean they can shart on the constitution to get what they want!

Most of us don't look to nanny-government for our every need. This isn't UK....we are more self-reliant here! Well, most of us!

I included the last bit of my post because I assumed the majority were in fear of guns "running around". The truth is I know a lot of people with what is deemed an "assault rifle". In reality it is nothing more than a fancy hunting rifle made to look stealthy, scary, or military like. Most AR owners use the thing to hunt deer, and none of them are running around with them since they are more responsible than that.

Being that I do not hunt now (if the need came I would though as I do know how), I assume they have a limit to the number of rounds they can carry when using their AR or AK, much like they are limited to the number of rounds when hunting with a shotgun. A shotgun comes with a wooden dowel rod in the loading tube to limit the number of shells placed in it. Many using theirs for home protection remove the rod which is fine since they are not hunting with it. If they are and a game warden comes along to check they can be ticketed.

The truth is most legal gun owners (though obviously not all from the story at hand) are responsible gun owners. Only those who are criminal or those who are extremely stupid and irresponsible (like the parents in the story) make the news and make it sound like guns are running all over and killing thousands of people a day. The truth is there is not that kind of gun violence in the U.S. a great number of gun deaths are suicide and those doing that act would just find another way to do that anyway. I have lost family due to suicide and a shotgun was used. The main driving factor was alcohol (which I assume caused or enhanced a mental illness). So the point is that because of alcohol the family member wanted to end his life, gun or not he would have found another way.

squarehead666 said he wanted an M4, I believe your gun laws make it so that he cannot own one of those at least not in an operational manner. Personally if he is responsible I do not see why it is anyone business if he owns one or not. I do not think the government or my neighbor has the right or is any of their business what firearms I own as long as I am responsible with them. That said it is squarehead666 battle to fight as it is not my country. The soon the whole world starts to understand that they need to worry about their own country before trying to change things in their own I think we will start to fix a lot of the worlds problems.

I personally do not see why people are afraid of the AR or the AK, all they do is sit there doing nothing and most crimes committed are not done with such weapons. They are just to big to conceal and maneuver with in tight quarters. Sure they look tough and I guess scary but to me no more so than a Hummer or one of the big road hogging diesel trucks that every family thinks they need. To be honest I think the AR and AK are less dangerous and destructive and they are not polluting the environment and filling the air with carcinogenics.

I just want people to let me live my life and leave me alone. I want people to stop wanting to look in my house, I want people to stop acting offended when they can look away. I want the incredibly ultra PC crowd to vanish and never be seen again.

Fine it your culture, Have your guns. But guns are just not a central part of most EU cultures. It is how it is. And if the minority of EU gun lovers want one then there is nothing stopping them from moveing to the USA. Like there is not much stopping USA people moveing to EU if they really really hate guns. MAybe we can have a swap we trade your gun grabers for our gun lovers?

Fallacious argument! Of course not, this is why we have laws against that already. Then again, you wouldn’t know.

Our immigration quota for socialists is full! We have plenty already.

I know you are a redneck and cant understand the concept of countrys and people outside the USA but thats how it is.

Name calling is a sign that you’re losing and running out of ammunition. Why would you come to a thread about American issues and act as though you understand what's going on??

By the way, I’ve lived in Belgium and Germany and visited (briefly) Spain, Italy, Crete, Israel, Iraq, Yugoslavia, etc. I know what’s out there and it’s not freedom from government oppression, that’s for sure!

If the majority of Americans want to make amendments (o wait there already are Amendments in it
) then the minority will be hard pressed to stop them.

So unless you and others like you have a privite army somewhere full of advanced weaponry change will be comeing.

And I would say out of the 15 countrys I have visted the USA has got to be one of the most opressive countrys I have been too. It the only country that has taken by finger prints and retana scans for just stepping into it (In EU you need a warrent or be arrested foe such things). Your TSA are like gestapo and new york city reminded me of a police state. Dont act like your countrys sh!t dont stink as it is a smelly as any EU country. Just in a diffrent way.

Teachable moment here…

Do you have any idea when the last time the constitution was amended???

The Twenty-seventh Amendment (Amendment XXVII) prohibits any law that increases or decreases the salary of members of the Congress from taking effect until the start of the next set of terms of office for Representatives. It is the most recent amendment to the United States Constitution. It was submitted to the states for ratification in 1789 and was adopted in 1992.
link

It took over 200 years!!

Before that it was the 26th amendment in 1971.

This document doesn’t get changed easily, friend. It has stood the test of time and will remain the foundation of our government.

So unless you and others like you have a privite army somewhere full of advanced weaponry change will be comeing.

If 'adapt' means become a dependent class of slaves like the welfare grabbers in EU then I'll take my chances!

You may not want to live in EU fair enough dont. But dont insult us as a whole. Just bacuse we are diffrent from the USA dosnt make us any less of a people. Im not insulting the USA in general even though I dont personaly agree with some of its way.
