Just because they were Seal Team 6 doesn't mean they were on the raid. DEVGRU is a lot more than just the raid team.

I'm was, and still am, only pointing to your lack of congruency...

Logic is intrinsically congruent, 1 + 1 = 2 when there is a deviation one needs to explain what caused it or it becomes nonsensical or clearly intentional disinformation especially when there is a clear ulterior motive behind the claim.

You could have been clear about your intended position and targets without the circumlocution. As I pointed out, your agenda was to discredit the 3 "sources". Wikileaks, the quoted person and the agency, to do so you presented a bad rational and twisted the OP intended presentation. That behavior is what defines a disinformation agent compare it with the way I called you out directly and clearly explained why.

What he's saying here is clearly his own opinion and not based on any facts attributed to any source outside his own mind.

* From his executive biography:

Burton has been featured as a terrorism and security expert in numerous media outlets, including ABC Nightly News, CBS Evening News, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Daily Show, NBC's The Today Show, CBS's The Early Show, CNN's Anderson Cooper 360, NPR, Al Jazeera English, FOX News and the Financial Times.

He's been on The Daily Show, he must be an insider in the covert action community!

I already made that point clear that you are making illogical claims...

So those media outlets (whatever credibility/validity you may attribute them) decide that his opinion has value. They are accredited news sources, even if we may dispute their merit on ATS, they are commercial for profit organization like Strategic Forecasting, Inc. (Stratfor), if they are still in business is because they get at least someone that pays for them to function, and so they have an intrinsic value.

I'm left thinking how many times have you been called by the media to provide expertize in this type of subjects, since you clearly seem deluded enough to think your opinion should be taken with the same regard...

PS: Again attacking The Daily Show does not advance your point, Your assumption (am assuming myself) would be that the show is simply a joke and has no merit, but you would be wrong. Much useful information is presented in it in the form of satire, granted with some political inclination (and that is surely is hidden) but it is also clearly done more openly than in other media channels. I think you really are a lost cause, you are on ATS attacking commonly (even if not consensually) accepted premises. On ATS The Daily Show has in general a high credibility rating than CNN...

You know I get really fed up sometimes discussing topics like this on ATS which is a shame because terrorism in general is my area of specialist interest so to speak.

The problem is that many of you think you know what you are talking about but really you don’t, you make all these claims that are utter rubbish and pass them off like facts when you couldn’t be more wrong. It’s gotten so bad I don’t get as involved in these types of threads as much as I used to with all the claims that Bin Laden died in Tora-Bora, he had kidney disease and needed Dialysis, Bhutto told us he was murdered, he was CIA or all the SEALs died on that helicopter, all of which is utter rubbish. It makes having a intelligent discussion about Al-Qa’ida almost impossible on this site because some (not all) members knowledge of the network is so abysmal we might as well be talking about two different groups. The same goes with talking about DEVGRU (most of you can’t even get the name right) again we might as well be talking about two entirely different groups.

I really don’t know why some people on ATS try to pretend to know everything about everything rather than a everything about something. I for example know nothing really about UFOs, aviation or the history of a bunch of secret societies. So when I go into a thread on one of those topics I recognise my limitations and use it as an opportunity to learn. I can’t help but think at times I am in a minority because there are lots of members on ATS who seem to post like they know what they are talking about when it comes to any topic.

This thread demonstrates that most of you don’t it makes discussion almost impossible.

nope, he didnt,

You are right, he didn't die of renal failure in 2001. No idea why they had to completely fake every single bin laden video after 2001, in some cases having him age IN REVERSE. But yeah, I don't think it was renal failure. But I have read articles talking about the fact that he might have had some type of genetic issue, can't remember the term but it had to do with elongated features and a low life span.

Regardless, the Bin LAden Boggyman disappeared sometime in 2001 and has never been seen or heard from since, every tape, video or audio, was doctors and has been proven to be. Sadly, if you google it you'll probably end up at infowars :/

I think the disease you are thinking of is Addison’s disease which he may or may not have had, Lawrence Wright author of the Looming Tower suggested that he may have had this because he seemed to demonstrate some of the symptoms. However it has never been confirmed if he did have it or not.

Here you go Mr. terrorism expert....

Does bin Laden have Marfan syndrome?

Judging by photos and the FBI’s physical records, Osama bin Laden could be a candidate for the diagnosis. He is said to be between 6 foot 4 inches and 6 foot 6, which is apparently unusual for his family. He is thin, bony and has little muscle; he weighs only 160 pounds. And he uses a cane — possibly the result of connective tissue or back problems. Other information about the leader of al-Qaida suggests he may have a heart condition. His facial structure also resembles that of people with Marfan.

Reading your posts makes me wanna
. You claim to to know so much about al-Qaida, yet can't even get the disease right..

I'm still waiting for you to answer this...

i mean the origional source is RT, need i really say more?

Yes actually, you do need to say more. What would be a better source in your opinion?

I have read about the possibility of Marfan syndrome before only because when I was writing a thread debunking the idea he was on Dialysis I came across it when trying to figure out about his medical history.

He didn’t have it its most likely also false, and my response was to the other poster asking about it was based on my read of books by actual experts ( I am not arrogant enough to claim I am an expert) one of whom as I mentioned had suggested that he may have had Addison’s disease so that’s what I went with form a informed position.

It wasn’t that I got the disease wrong merely that I was elaborating on another possible aliment he may or may not have had and I presumed that is what the member may have been talking about. Marfan syndrome does seem like it might have been what he was talking about but I am no doctor and based on the few details I had that’s what I went with, Addison’s disease as that is the one of the more popular claims. If you take the time to read the book I referenced you will see that for yourself that it is possible he may have had the disease.

With regards to RT.

RT is known to have a major American bias it is the propaganda machine of the Russian government and Putin I don’t trust that any more than I trust North Korean state media.

Anyway the actual source this guy that works for some firm that had absolutely nothing to do with the Bin Laden raid as I have said before means nothing. His opinion is just as valid as my opinion if I say the word is flat.

I know how you feel! I get really fed up with some people claiming to be experts when they only know what they have read on the internet or in bogus publications with an agenda or outright propaganda.

But afterall this is ATS where freedom of speech reigns supreme even for shills, disinfo monkeys, expert wannabes, charlatans, and fools.

Would you have it any other way? Who would be qualified to censor members?

IMO...ATS is strictly for entertainment and inspiration. Even the so called information/education needs to be looked upon as entertainment because everyone has an opinion and you know what they say about opinions....

Al Qaeda themselves obviously accept that OBL was killed in 2011. It is also evident from their statement that they don't know what has happened to his body :-

Is wikileaks a reliale source though in all fairness? Still doesn't make any sense that they didn't arrest him if what is said to have happened actually did, then again if he wasnt buried at sea or killed ,why?

Osama Bin Laden is a mythic figure who operates - even in death - on a strictly symbolic level. OBL stopped being a person in 2001, but continued to function in a symbolic way, which is not unusual. When he was alive all of his actions bore a 'practical' symbolic value. In death all of those 'past actions' continue to operate in a mythological manner. Both sides benefit equally - the CIA and Al Queda, which is an invention of the US government anyway - who brazenly continues to make use of the 'organization' for its own ends in many places throughout the world - not just in places like Benghazi Libya, Syria and the Middle East generally.

www.abovetopsecret.com... there were some decent comments, and the bogey men showed up too just like this thread, funny that..

Edit to say I missed your link, apologies.

In my opinion there's 50% chance that he was indeed killed by the Navy Seals in 2011, but the buried at sea part of the story is completely unbelievable... That's just how I feel about it personally.

Why do you think British and American special forces were inexplicably given the bizarre order to "stand down" whilst believing they were pursuing Bin Laden at Tora Bora?

There was no Bin Laden at Tora Bora; they hold back, and the non-entity has theoretical time to escape.

I did not believe they could kill Bin Laden at the very beginning. Maybe, they even don't know whether he was dead or still alive. So ridiculous.
