Worked on capturing some frames of M42 and NGC 1977 last night. Still have a bit of a light gradient in the image that I am trying to resolve but so far I like it!

Just to show that you don't need huge telescopes and expensive equipment to shoot the heavens with, here's a shot I took about 10 years ago using a Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D DSLR with a 300mm lens and mounted on a telescope in my sister's driveway. It shows Jupiter, along with it's four biggest moons:

Haven't posted on this thread in ages but here's a couple of wide-field handheld shots of the Venus and Jupiter conjunction tonight (30 June) taken with a Canon EOS 700D and EF50mm lens.

I'm going to see what I can capture with my camera tonight. Hopefully.

We had a LOT of pop up thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening. Hopefully they'll finish up and roll out of here.

Crud.

I have more T storms moving in from the west. I can't see any stars right now at all, and forget seeing Jupiter and Venus.

By the time they clear, they'll have set.

Yes, but I was in New Mexico and didn't have access to a telescope so I'm too embarrassed by the quality to post it. I was limited to just a regular telephoto lens. I was going to go after it again last night with my telescope but the weather didn't allow it.

Hi!

It says, "all skill levels", right?

So, I want to share mine too. Nothing spectacular like all of yours, but I'm so happy about my moon pictures!
I have just a simple digital camera and a real old and simple telescope and I just held up the camera to the eyepiece and didnt expect absolutely nothing. I don't know the first thing about photography, not to mention astrophotography. I tried two different settings cause I didnt know how it all works, with light and stuff.

But I think these came out not too bad.

And to me, it's the coolest looking moon ever!
