This was videoed in Belfast

The poor woman had an appartment block full of students opposite her,

as she tenaciously tried to park her Opel Corsa.

The video is 15 mins long, but she had been trying for 20 minutes beforehand...

* WARNING * If the sometimes-foul-student-language offends,

then please mute the video and listen to music

I found this very funny,

especially the reactions from other people,

Like the woman who got into her car and did not drive away

or complain too much when her car was rammed,

Or the fact that after trying to park for 30 odd minutes,

someone drove away and left a larger space a few cars further up...

Kudos to her,

I would have given up after 3 attempts

I think this is pretty old...I've seen this on many fail youtube video.

What it does to me...is wonder..how this person got his/her driver's licence...unfortunately...this is not an isolated case.

My driving instructor told me...people often think that getting a driver's licence is a citizens "right". Because you can pay for it...and get it. Some people fail the test numerous times until finally passing (probably the instructor finally buckled). The thing is...not all people are or can be good or even decent drivers.

It's a skill. I for one would vote for more rigorous testing for licences...and even setting a limit for passing the exams...try 3 times...If you cant pass it..it's not for you.

Reminds me of my wife trying to parallel park. She never does, and I don't even question why anymore. I have tried but failed to advise her. She will walk two blocks or avoid shopping at a store if she has to parallel park

I really don't get why is parallel parking such a fuss...It is the same as regular parking.

Correction...it is actually easier...at least it is to a normal driver.

No it isn't and no you haven't, my friend.

25.04 2013 was the date on youtube

and it was on the BBC website and Radio 2 today.

And a 15 minute long video is a bit long for a fail-compilation.

(Star for the reply)

well, thanks for the tutorial...

From my own experience...it's far more easier to fit in a tight parking space by parallel parking than the "normal" one...

all you need is basic understanding of the car geometry...

as for the video...perhaps it's similar to what I've seen....I'll post it...soon as as I find it...

Why didn't she just drive straight into the space instead of trying to reverse in tut, giving us women a bad name hay!!

You can't just "drive in" to a space, she had roughly the right idea,

she just didn't get her angles or sense of 3D space around her right.

Here's a helpful diagram
