Holy cow!

I was curious, after seeing the jackpot now at $165 million, how many times a quick pick has won. (where the computer randomly picks your numbers)

The answer? For the Florida Powerball....EVERY jackpot winner was a quick pick!

EVERY SINGLE ONE....

Wow....

When looking at the regular lotto, the vast percentage was also quick pick. Only when you get to Fantasy Five is about 50/50, with quick picks having a slight edge still.

So, the end result? Playing a quick pick seems to really increase your chances of winning, over birthdays, and other personal numbers.

I always found that a funny statistic myself..

I did have an officer who came in with the rest for an early shift change who played her regular numbers..

and the week she didn't? you guessed it, they all hit..

I put up a site some time ago that generates lotto numbers.

www.playlottonumbers.com...

I wonder if anyone has won from my site.

I only ever do quick pick, if I remember to play at all.

Always the same number is deadly.

Imagine if you forgot to play one week and your numbers came up!

Maybe this is a conspiracy
...think about it.

If the numbers that win are computer numbers, who's to say they aren't faked immediately the draw is over onto a fake ticket to extract the money from the public domain and into an annonymous pocket?

A member of the public claiming to have won may be acting the part (for a large cut).

I just don't trust anyone or anything so don't take what I've said too seriously.

Do you take into account all the interest gained from unclaimed prizes in those calculations?

Wether a prize is big or small and claimed the day after a draw or never, it all adds up. Where is that money?

From my perspective,Good advice Gazrok.
Because the only significant lottery win I ever had was the UK version of Quick Pick(Lucky Dip,randomly chosen by computer).
That was about 6years ago,and I got £1870 from a £1 ticket.(double those numbers to get the approx US dollar value for around that time).

It came at a time my car and computer had died, and I was sooo happy.
Ended up paying for a car I still have now,a computer I don't,and towards my telescope!
Also paid off a loan.
Win Win!!!

Get a Lucky Dip/Quick pick once in a while if you feel lucky folks!!

I've only won about $200 on the lotto, but my mother won around $10,000 once (after taxes).

I only play a ticket a week, when I even remember to play and have a spare buck or two on me to chance.

Good to know!

We have a weekly pool at work where participants toss in 4 dollars each. Last week we had 52 dollars, so we put 9 on auto for two drawings on the PB, (Wed & Sat), and 8 on auto for two drawings on the MM, (Tue & Fri). This week, we had 62 dollars to invest, because we won 12 last week, and reinvest anything under 100 bucks back in.

We've been doing this for over a year.

Everyone gets 4 chances a week t).Sa to win a lotto. Right now, the PB is 165 million, and the MM is 114 million. I don't mind splitting it amongst others, heck 1 million is good with me, anything more, gravy. We're just waiting to hit on that Magical Day.
