I am not scared for myself, I abandoned fear long ago. I'm a survivor.

I fear for others and what their ignorance, their arrogance and their self righteous attitude is going to bring. I know how to deal with it, I still have critical thinking skills. Many don't.

We have a highly motivated effort to install gun control.
We have an increase in request for surveillance.
We have the media influencing social opinion.
We have the education system manipulating a generation of children.

Don't worry when the fourth Reich finally show's it's ugly head we will be ready as we have been waiting and preparing for many decade's, we said never again and we meant it literally and will leave them a barren wasteland when they do, no mercy, no pity, no remorse, they will be removed from existence.

Well studying the Weimar Republic may give some clues, and I have actually been looking a bit more into that lately.

There are several considerations that need to be taken as parallels are drawn, as we did, in some ways, learn something from history, so the players are a bit different.

Possibilities:

An amendment to the Constitution, or an Executive Order Granting Legislative Powers to an office or group that currently does not have them. These include Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, Department of Education, Department of Health and Human Services, and the Attorney General.

It is interesting (and particularly disturbing) that The Department of Health and Human Services (used to be called Department of Health, Education, and Welfare and was renamed after the separate federal Department of Education was created in 1979), took over the duties of The Federal Security Agency when it was abolished in 1952.

They also have their own "army" known as United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps

as a uniformed service, may also be militarized and considered a branch of the armed forces by an act of Congress, or by executive order by the President of the United States, not only in time of war, but also in “an emergency involving the national defense proclaimed by the President."

If I were trying to push gun control through in the most expedient manner, and to limit the civil liberties of citizens, that is how I would do it.

The first thing people should do is learn the truth.

Hitler and the NAZIs were put into power by corporations and corporate bankers. The NAZIs were industrialist, capitalists.

Hitlers first act was to kill all the Union leadership, and then the communists.

The polar opposite of paranoia is inquisitive which is what your are being.

I like to think so, but MadMax7's statement seems to believe that being inquisitive, having some sort of critical thinking skills and questioning what is going on around us equates to paranoia, and there are a lot of people who have that mindset. That is probably the thing that scares me most. That viewpoint which seems to be spreading like wildfire.

People like MadMax7, who have that same attitude, are making it easier and easier for someone to come in and take total control...

I agree that this is not axactly what happened in Germany so long ago and that might possibly just be because maybe, and this is a far fetched maybe, Mr. Pres is actually someone who doesn't want total control himself, but what we need to consider is that even if some people are wrong and Mr O is a great and benevolent person the stage is being set for a horrible person to rise to power and abuse it. That why initially we were set up as three equal powers of Government, so no one person could be "King" of America. Through our fears we have been manipulated into thinking that someone can protect us.

The absence of an effective government prompted two influential politicians, Franz von Papen and Alfred Hugenberg, along with several other industrialists and businessmen, to write a letter to von Hindenburg. The signers urged Hindenburg to appoint Hitler as leader of a government "independent from parliamentary parties", which could turn into a movement that would "enrapture millions of people". Hindenburg reluctantly agreed to appoint Hitler as chancellor after two further parliamentary elections—in July and November 1932—had not resulted in the formation of a majority government.

OP is right to study this history and make it relevant for today.

The threat of the Fourth Reich won't come parading down our streets in brown shirts.... today they wear business suits... today they are called the corporate fascists and neo-cons... they believe that 'corporations are people'.

The Fourth Reich began rebuilding itself after V-E day, after the show trials at Nurenburg, the facts are there.

Reinhard Gehlen, Alan Dulles and Richard Nixon participated in Operation Paperclip bringing hundreds of dedicated Nazi's into the United States and handing out research jobs with the military industrial complex.

Those men designed the OSS/CIA upon what Reinhard Gehlen had developed for the Nazi's. Gehlen was one of the top intelligence guys for Hitler.

Don't take my word for it. Mae Brussell's was exposing and cross-filing and indexing all these people, how they got into the US, who brought them here, how they were given engineering and technical and leadership positions within the US missile and space programs, for example, Arthur Rudolph and Werner von Braun.

The one thing I will say in regards to the immediate distractors, on one thing they are correct about, and that is, you'll never awaken the brainwashed with the comparison analysis methodology, because quite frankly, most are too stupid to see it. And even the ones who do, then you can take a sub section from them and the engineers just as easily use their awareness, Distort truth and pigeonhole another groups as the culprit therefore maintaining their secrecy of networks while possibly even ridding of a former ally who is just to close to the knowing and to much of a political threat to their power. And what happens is that in comparison the blame game of whose the bad guy gets the wheel a rolling and people get stuck in that trying to prove or disapprove their conclusions, even with evidence and that's exactly what the engineers want. An insightful post to the search for the past and truth, and when comparing the events to America-many people forget that Hitler used the American method of Genocide on the Native American population, and told the world that he admired the way the Government had taken care of the "problem"
There were more lost in this Genocide (3-10X greater), and their appears to be amnesia among the present generation when they believe that the same thing cannot happen again in America
Both were terrible events, but one is purposefully overshadowed by the other, and contact with the Shoah Foundation whose mission is to make the public aware of the Holocaust, they conveniently do not want to include those who were the model for their extermination-yet they want the public to be aware

My beef with Biden is that he is leaning more and more toward the side of more governmental controls, more government involvement, and more less civil liberties, very specifically his views on gun control, and the fact that he drafted anti terrorist legislation that was pretty much a duplicate of the Patriot act prior to 9/11, and complained that it was badly "watered down by anti-government conservatives and leftist civil libertarians".

However, I am very afraid of the attitudes and sense of superiority that seems to be proliferating at an exponential rate in the country I call home. It is very reminiscent of the sense of Nationalism that made Germany a force to be reckoned with.

Also the way people are eager to accept (protection) at the lose of their rights. It scares me and saddens me, as we came by those rights by the death of a lot of young men. Once we give away our rights and freedoms we will not get them back and they are going at a good trickle now one after another.

I agree. Unless Joe Biden is granted some power by the dark Lord to take over an entire country and then target an ethnic group for extermination I'd say he's out of the running for the next beast or next anti-christ.

Look for someone in North Korea who is threatening Japan with nuclear missiles.

Or someone in Russia helping Ahmednijad threaten Israel with a nuclear holocaust while denying that Hitler killed 6 million Jews in the name of religious partisan tactics to maintain a political stance among zealots that would vote for him.
