Lets just say this is probably the standard ATS method of sorting out technical problems

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

What on gods green acre made you think that a hammer was an appropriate tool for opening a PC?
If you didn't know how to get it open you could have just posted first, and folks would have walked you through it. Now all we can do is sit here, shaking our heads, and laughing in amusement.

That said, you can still salvage it... IF YOU STOP beating on it before you break it further.
The parts can be put into another case.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Finally got that bastard out after hammering it at the top and putting two knives between the clips.

Guess what he did?

He screwed it in on both sides.

Turd.

Did anyone else get a tear in their eye when they saw that mangled tower?

If it was put in, it can be taken out... just need patience. If anything is "stuck" there is usually a clip or screw, find that and pieces slide right out.

I only ever used screws I could undo with just my fingers, no tool needed, when I used to assemble my own cases. Can't imagine why one would make it so difficult.

I almost wonder if the screws that were in both sides were not actually screwed in, but in rails that most cases use. They would appear to be keeping it in, but not actually doing much other than keeping it in lined up with the clips.

Well, unfortunately.

I did not, and at the time, did not have the patience for it.

And at that time,

If, I had the patience to work with it.

I could've played with it.

I did not.

I had someone bitching about this and that.

Someone yelling in my ear, while sick as dog for two weeks, and they want want it done now.

And I was like...

you want it done....

Here comes the hammer.

It's better to beat the computer.

Hey, I wasn't stingy.

I let her take her frustrations out too.

I am not too worried about this computer.

I can always get another one.

I didn't take pictures of the knives that were in there while hammering away.

They were, a pain to get out though.

But it came out, after that.

Pushing and pulling,

Was becoming annoying.

I think,

I only touched the head of it.

If, you idiots don't screw a drive strictly at the bottom and top.

I'm not going to ring your necks.

Don't, screw it in.

Allow others easy access at least.

But that tower, pissed me off.

After taking it out.

They were on both sides.

But, it wouldn't come out.

Yeah, just pinch it in, it will easily slide.

It, won't.

Like, I haven't thought of that.

Sorry about my last two posts. They probably don't make sense.

They are off because these past two weeks I have been suffering from a really bad headache with the feeling of very low blood pressure and being weak.

Today, I actually feel better.

These past two weeks though, I felt like I was dying. So my mind wasn't all there.

Some cases over the years have been designed by the devil himself but if the person managed to get the drive into the case then it should be possible to get it out and these days they're better than some of the razor sharp corners and dodgy pressed and riveted cases i've met in my time, but don't think money make for better quality i've had plenty of cuts/scars from mainframes etc when trying to do stuff
