Here is the man in the suit talking about it:

www.highlandradio.com...

And talk about putting your foot in your mouth, this site called Common Sense Conspiracy says:

"We filter through the bullsh*t so you don't have to!"

Then they post the video asking why the guy is in the suit!

im always weary of videos that zoom in and out sporadically and go in and out of focus. im no CGI or video expert but looks like it was just a small boat like the people where in making the wake and then edited out and the hump added in. kind of reminds me of that fake mermaid documentary with the phone camera footage or clover field or something

Looks like a whale surfacing. I don't see any air blowing out though. That could have happened right before the camera panned to the scene though.

Just my initial assessment.

Don't get me wrong, I am way into cryptozoology and take it seriously.
But I am afraid this looks far more like a whale than a plesiosaur.

I used to live in a place called Islandmagee it was an inlet along the coast and we got whales beaching all the time there, sad but true
i'm going for whale in the lough.

As for the suit we Irish don't go out of the house without our suits hats and frilly dresses on just in case of accidents, did your mammy's not tell you anything growing up tut

This kind of stuff is always fun to check out. It was shot much better than most of the `lake monster` videos I have seen before. From everything I have read on this thread it seems like it was a bit planned but they did pull it off well. In my opinion, they most likely has something running slightly underwater so that it looked like it might be a lake monster but actually some kind of vessel which moves underwater.

Occam's razor: the simplest explanation is most likely the correct one. The possibilities:

1) It was an elaborate hoax, involving hidden boats / underwater vessels / CGI, etc.

2) It was genuinely some sort of lake monster that no-one has ever caught or filmed before

3) It was a whale, and the guy who said it definitely wasn't a whale is mistaken

Much as I would like it to be number 2, I'm gonna go with number 3.

I don't think it's number three.
It just doesn't seem to have the movement of a whale....in my opinion.
Not that I'm any expert on marine mammals.

It doesn't look faked to me.
The guy in the suit looks genuinely puzzled to me.

Also the swell in the water seems as if whatever made it. Has some power and weight.

I'd love this one to be solved because I am leaning towards your number two !

I think you missed the first addendum to Occam's famous razor

"the simplest explanation is most likely the correct one" - unless Irish men are involved

after all
Who else would go fishing in a suit and white tie?

But that aside, the video looks good

Look at the third picture down on this link. Does it seem familiar? www.grindtv.com...

Ok so it looks sort of like a tire I mean theres 2 boats there could be fishing string tied to it and the guys could be pulling it and when it dissaperes in the water at the end of the vid then more then likely let go of the fishing string just sayin

P.S.whats up with the suit

Weird that im only just hearing about this, I live right by the banks of the Foyle ( ive a great view ), not too far from where this video was taken.

I would go with whale, they have been known to come up the Foyle on occasion.

I just saw this because you posted.
Don't think I paid attention when it began.

It's funny after reading through the posts,
how many were convinced it was a hoax
because the fisherman in the video had a suit
jacket on.. Wrong.

Looks legit to me.
A large aquatic creature.
As to what that creature is?
No idea.
