Yes...you are truly blessed with a wonderful home surrounded by the beauty of nature; I can understand why you will not move; why would anyone want to

As for the pig poo-poo smell; I know what you are talking about; growing up I had a friend who lived in the country and every year when I would go to visit... in the spring that ucky smell was there.

This is a rant and nobody forced you to come into here and read this. I do enjoy the relevant use of "crap" though.

Yeah, that sucks it really does. I live in rural surroundings myself but thankfully there are not that many farmers fields near my home... But here at university is a whole other issue entirely. There is a farmer that raises cattle just at the edge of the university so about every day whenever it's warm, you get the ripe smell of cow dung blowing all through the air and even permeating inside of the buildings if the conditions are right. It's very unpleasant and it eventually seeps into your clothes and hair... Yuck. I'd have to say my all time least favorite scent is that of chicken manure though. Worst smell I've ever smelled in my entire life.

Thanks for your response Myo,

I take it you have never had a cheap curry behind Leeds University with a couple of pints of Guiness to wash it all down with... i will not go into the gory details about the next morning

Yep we certainly are my dear... and it took me a long time to work on the cottage and get the garden back in order after 20 years of total abandon (and all without the help of Monsanto... only natural products)

In a way i suppose it's the pigs way of getting back at the bacon eaters huh?

Which reminds me... where is Heff?

Wait till the sunflowers are out in front of the house in the fields... the view is "Grandiose" as they say in French.

Last year it was ok as my neighbour used horse manure, which actually smells a lot better and doesn't impregnate...

And a firm virile handshake and hats off to you too John for answering back

Fancy a couple of sausages going cheap?

Absolutely beautiful place.
I love your house, and the wisteria is such a nice touch.

I sympathatize about the pig poop, it's the worst.

I'm just starting to deal with the flies of rural life now that some of the snow is finally starting to melt.
I'm lucky to not have pigs nearby, I'm surrounded by cattle fields.

Couple more weeks of snow, then it's time to get at he yard work ....

Thank you Snow,

That Wisteria took me quite a while to train (twisting around the main branches), it should be in complete full bloom next week so i will take another pic and post it on this thread to share.

Ouch, sounds as if back problems will be starting soon methinks

Such a lovely story about a lovely setting...until the pig poo.....

Pretty crass of your neighbor not to talk with you about it first. Of course, we don't either, when we spread horse manure on the pastures, but horse crap is much less foul. Sucks about the BBQ....
