After talking with a friend of mine that shall remain nameless ( CODY :lol
It has come to my attention just how much all English speaking people in the world have corrupted the language.

, What I would like here is for members to give explanation's of the meaning of their slang. Or examples of it in a sentence. To help other members know what in the [snip] they are talking about when they are posting.

I have another good friend that will give me replies in "gutter Welsh" ( I think). His comments are both witty, and funny. But I feel like I need Google Translator to reply sometimes. So lets help each other.

Here are a few words from my neck of the woods.

Yonder: any distance you don't know the real distance to.

Pishaw: Disbelief

pertinear: Just about

Jonny Law; Police

Renob; A backwards boner

I Rekon : I guess so. (I once had a Mexican friend say, I crash in, he thought it was the same)

Bees Knees; Really cool

Catawampus: not in a straight line

Howsurmomandim: how is the family

For a change please don't single me out. I had a thread a member took offense to, and I can see his point. I would just like to hear some of the slang in other Countries and maybe we can have a little fun exchanging it.

If you have a question on the slang from a certain country or area. Ask a member from that area.

If we all get together and share our slang. Pretty soon nobody will know what anyone is saying.

Good idea Rocky! Here's a few to add to the dictionary:

catacornered: at approximately a 45 degree angle from, generally on the other side of the street

yontsum: do you want some?

fixin' a git ready: almost ready to begin preparations

Disbelief: Bull#

A backwards boner: Trannie..

I guess so: Ye.

Really cool: Dogs Bollox

If none of the above, then swear - #, # and bastard suit most situations

I disagree...

I think the world of "hip hop" and rap corrupted the English language... At least shakespear made it sound good...

Now we have words like hizzy, and for shizzle...

Retards
Attempting
Poetry

What I found harder to believe than a choir boy in a porn shop, and started this thread was why anyone would call a phone a dog. And a Phone and receiver a dog and bone.

That makes a excellent point for this thread.

Do you have any idea what that means?

Shakespeare was to the English language as Sir Issac Newton was to the world of science:-

I thought there was a conspiracy as to whether Shakespeare wrote those works.

Who gets the blame then?

That is from Cockney rhyming slang.

Dog and Bone - Phone

Rosie Lee - Tea

Rabbit and pork - Talk

Elephant's Trunk - Drunk

Cream Crackered - Knackered

Knackered - Tired

China Plate - Mate (as in, my old China)

Mickey Mouse - House

Whistle and Flute - Suite

The only conspiracy about Will Shakespeare is that made by the people of London and the South East of England. Some people from those areas cannot bear the fact that Shakespeare came from The English Midlands. They believe that someone so great as he should have come from London. It's an envy thing you know.
