[Out of control] Tritium leaked from 4 of 7 reservoirs, “1,100,000,000Bq/m3 from reservoir No.1″

April 25th, 2013

About the major leakage of highly contaminated water, radioactive water Tritium was detected outside of 4 of the 7 reservoirs.

According to Tepco, Tritium was detected from the drain hole water (outside of the reservoirs) of reservoir No.1, 2, 4, and 6.

The samples were collected on 4/17/2013. Tepco took 8 days to release the data.

Tepco transfered the leaking water from No.3 to No.6, but this No.6 is also leaking Tritium.

They also detected Tritium from leakage detector hole water of 3 reservoirs, No.1, 2 and 3.

The highest reading was 1,100,000,000 Bq/m3 from the Northeast side of No.1.

The good news is tritum has a pretty short half life....

The bad news is that is Alot.....and alot more where that came from..

Just keeps getting better and better

Fukushima could possibly be the worst environmental(nuclear) disaster the Earth has ever seen.

We are just beginning to measure it's effects and the problem is only getting worse. As there is simply no way to clean up the radioactive elements that are pouring into the ocean(water supply).

Allowing these facilities to be built in respect to location, equipment, oversight, and management-
IMO, is another Epic Fail For Humanity.

S&F for bring more awareness to the issue.

Can't Win? Change the Rules!

April 24, 2013

The US and Japan are trying to raise acceptable radiation exposure limits. "If you can't decrease the water level, you elevate the bridge," says pediatrician and author Dr. Helen Caldicott.

On today's podcast, Arnie and Helen discuss the associated health risks of various types of radioactive releases, how regulators and the nuclear industry are downplaying those releases, and the current state of the Fukushima clean up. "The recovery of the site will go nowhere as long as Tokyo Electric is in charge," says Arnie.

One can look back at my earliest posts on Fukushima and see that I said it could very well be an ELE event. Will it be an ELE event overnight? Nope, but over a few generations you bet it can be. Humans will evolve to deal with it or we will slowly die off. As it is Pacific Tuna fish and all manner of other sea critters are dying off and showing up with unacceptable levels of radiation.

Between much of the world getting most of their food from the sea and what is falling in the air it is not really safe to eat much of anything that was not grown at home in a covered greenhouse and watered with only the most filtered water possible.

I expect to die from cancer and I don't smoke...... Glad I was 46 when Fuku happened.

Gov’t Map: Fukushima fallout transported directly to U.S. — Canada, Mexico avoided much of contamination after 3/11

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) collaborated with the National Atmospheric Deposition Program in an effort to monitor North American precipitation samples for the presence of nuclear fallout in response to the Japan Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Station incident that occurred on March 11, 2011.

The study found concentrations (activity) and fallout (deposition) of radioactive iodine and radioactive cesium in significant number of samples. Detectable quantities of Iodine-131, Cesium-137, and Cesium-134 were observed at 21% of the 167 tested locations. Concentrations of I-131 detected in 5 samples ranged from 29.6 to 1090 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). Concentrations of Cs-134 detected in 23 samples ranged from 0.4 to 55 pCi/L. Concentrations of Cs-137 in 33 samples ranged from 0.70 pCi/L to 39 pCi/L.

Detections and measurable fallout from wet deposition was observed primarily at NADP sites located along the West Coast of the US, the central Rocky Mountain region and northern Great Plains, the central and upper Mississippi River Valley and eastern mountainous regions ranging from Virginia northward through Vermont.

MariaLida, thank you for the update on the Fukushima Event.
As others have shared its full effects are just beginning to be partially understood and so the full effects on the entire globe, 1 wonders about. @ times the sea -land flora being fauna ingested (cycles) as marketed? -air life being changed does concern 1 as well. Its a mess and hopefully those ALL who can are doing all that can be done to assist further the cleaning. And maybe in the future if permitted if not replaced with more advanced energy these facilities locations and underground/water locations are more surveyed as to prevent this type of issue later. It may be expensive but maybe they should build underground and above ground containments & atmospheric containments that can and would stop the further depletion of the EA*RTH Sea-Ground & Air from these radioactive or oil etc. pollutants...

Vibrations are still with ... be safe

Japan has always had much tougher rules than the US or EU, but even the present US regulations are way too stiff, given all the reports I have seen that stress that no long term effects are seen at these, or even many times higher levels. The studies seem to show definite benefits of moderate levels of radiation, much LESS cancer. But nobody seems to want to look at the facts, scary sensationalism is much more fun it seems.

You are kidding correct? ANY amount of radiation is bad. That is at this point in life pretty much determined. What are thinking that some radiation is good? Enough to much sunlight can give you cancer..... DOH!! epic fail on your part.

Yes, you get skin cancer from UVB, nasty stuff. Then you go get the good stuff to kill it. Why don't they ban the Sun?

Radiation therapy for basal and squamous cell skin cancers
Radiation therapy uses high-energy rays (such as x-rays) or particles (such as photons, electrons, or protons) to kill cancer cells.

Okay, a Couple questions for you.

A) Do you know what the product of Tritium decay is?

B) Do you know what the decay Energy of Tritium is?

C) Do you know what Element Tritium is an Isotope of?

D) Do you know the average distance that Tritium decay products travel through the atmosphere before being absorbed harmlessly by the atoms in the air?

Hint:

This is Tritium

Just one info for America probably you can't imagine how bad is situation in Japan ..

Study: Fukushima Radiation Has Already Killed 14,000 Americans
Already 14,000 U.S. Deaths From Fukushima ?
Dec, 2011

www.radiation.org...

www.washingtonsblog.com...

Janette Sherman, M.D
Joseph Mangano

An estimated 14,000 excess deaths in the United States are linked to the radioactive fallout from the disaster at the Fukushima nuclear reactors in Japan, according to a major new article in the December 2011 edition of the International Journal of Health Services. This is the first peer-reviewed study published in a medical journal documenting the health hazards of Fukushima.

[The authors] note that their estimate of 14,000 excess U.S. deaths in the 14 weeks after the Fukushima meltdowns is comparable to the 16,500 excess deaths in the 17 weeks after the Chernobyl meltdown in 1986. The rise in reported deaths after Fukushima was largest among U.S. infants under age one. The 2010-2011 increase for infant deaths in the spring was 1.8 percent, compared to a decrease of 8.37 percent in the preceding 14 weeks.

Bananas are a poor example that nay sayers have neen throwing around since this happened, It is like comparing apples and elephants...

Potassium-40. Is a natural thing..you are born with it in your body...as you take more in..you pass more out.

When you find Caesium-137, iodine-131 and a host of others in bananas, then we can talk
