I've tried other routes and they've all lead absolutely nowhere.

Absolutely valid point Wrabbit. And you are doing your part with this then. I have released management of the first companies I built and have shifted my personal focus to working with developing nations. Advising them on business standards that return value to the people of the nation and not into the hands of socialist power elite, religious power elite, or wealth greed cronies, who all enjoy pretending to be royalty.

I cannot begin to cite the poverty and misery I have seen firsthand over the last 5 years inside this focus. There are times when I wanted to fall to my knees and vomit. If there is a god of this planet he should be put in jail. Not one thing, not one crime, not one justification of some 'sin' on the part of mankind, can ever excuse the level of misery which resides on this planet today. It is epic, galactic in its proportion and gravitas.

My client nations bear some of the poorest and most disease riddled portions of the planet, yet ironically bear some of the richest wealth the globe possesses. These countries reside in 3 continents, yet all bear the same problem

1. Corruption. - I want something for doing nothing.

2. Greed. - Now that I have something, I want control to ensure I hold the lion's share.

These two things produce more misery than anything else, by far. And it is not the aspect of people being rich - that is not it. People can be rich, and not produce this condition. It is the spectre of control - that ugly aspect of humanity that it exercises on the road to becoming dominant, which is the culprit.

As the Eagles wrote in their 2008 release - Long Road out of Eden, "The Road to Empire is a bloody stupid waste." - And the US is not the only player doing this by far. Fully 14 cultures I have visited hold as their central tenet of beliefs, that they bear the destiny of (again) holding their rightful place as ruling the world. There are more than just the US, by far who make decisions based on Empire aspirations. Ancient cultures who seek to use resources or the enslavement of their people to re-establish themselves as World Empires.

Control - whether one takes all the property, cash, knowledge of science, knowledge of spirit, political power, resources. That desire to dominate - everyone and everything else - produces directly

...suffering.

I went and discussed this with my family and thought, hey, we can do at least some of this. Our biggest concern was the "outside view", but in reality, who really cares.

I think it might be a start. Garden, compost, burn when needed (enjoy the occasional bonfire), re-use jars, and stop buying garbage bags (this one we'll definately start doing).

Start in your own household... Prove your own theories... Then teach others how to do the same.

IMO change will come when there is something in place, even if just a prototype to bridge this current fading paradigm to the next one.

The problem is that most of us just don't know what to do to change things, where to start right?

Let's look at Spain and Greece, many people who were out protesting austerity simply got tired and frustrated and many of them are flocking to abandoned towns (Spain) or islands (Greece) forming their own self sufficient communities and starting to trade locally.

Now, this won't be the only way people will get out of the current paradigm and not all Spanish/Greeks would do that type of life changes, I am in the UK and we simply do not have anywhere to go here and start doing something like that... the only abandoned town in my region is used for military shelling... so not the safest option really.

My imagination lead me to believe that the most important thing to start the changes needed are technological advances, most which we already have the technology for is just that people are not working on it... or so I thought.

There is a group of people @ onecommunityranch.com... who are working on an Open Source project to provide community tools, from what I have seen it seems like is early days but in my opinion they are creating what could be the most important Open Source project in history.

Why? this could be how a town can become self sufficient and how people can manage themselves.... as someone's link above first pointed out, community is key and at the moment communities are pretty much just online... what if we use our online connectedness to work on local projects?

There will be people against this... I mean, if I had to be cynic of what I just said (auto-shill myself) I'd say that is stupid because not everyone has internet, some people won't care busy watching TV, it could be controlled by TPTB, blah blah blah...

As I always say, is a good idea... no need to throw the baby out with the bath water.... but from what I see on ATS this is normally the method of operation of many people.

Oh... but if you say: "what if the internet goes down?" then yeah... throw the baby out too please.

So, basically, what you're saying is this: If I don't believe in Jesus, and accept him as Lord and Saviour, i'm going to hell? Yea, i've heard this before; many times. Still don't believe it. The bible is a load, and your Christian holidays are stolen from older religions. You claim anyone who doesn't believe the same as you is a heratic, witch, devil, or demon.

Anyways, to those who wish to prepare for the war, i'm here to help you. PM me with questions if you have them (I think it's called U2U here though) Knowledge is power folks.

1) I didn't call anyone a heratic

2) I didn't even mention hell

3) I said nothing about any holiday

This must be your staus quo, contrarian response to all Christians, and you clearly put all Christians in the same group. I am not a fundementalist, and I hate organized man made religion. You're right about one thing though, there is a war, but you are sadly mistaken if you, as a mortal and imperfect human being, think that you have the ability to fight it on your own, and you are very arrogant and naive if you think that anything you do short of surrendering to God almighty will actually win the war. The real war is being fought between God and Satan. The Earth is nothing more than the place each side gets it's soldiers from.

I don't mean to be the wet blanket on your sunny day, but I do ask for specifics. Simply ranting that no one does anything is adding to the problem if it's not followed by concrete, tangible and realistic suggestions of specific steps the average John Q Citizen can start with.

I recommend education, but it's a long row to hoe and nothing happens quick on this path. It's also not for everyone for any number of reasons. So, what else is there which carries substance and not just symbolism?

Suggest that path with real meaning and I'll help you shout it from the rooftops. Believe me.

My thoughts exactly.

There will ALWAYS be problems on Earth....and it seems that people will always USE these problems as an excuse for whatever agenda they have. I'm not trying to be mean, but can we PLEASE be realistic for a second?

First, mankind will NEVER achieve whatever silly idea of "perfection" it is you guys have. We are ALREADY perfect, even with our rapes, murders, flaws, abortions, diseases, hunger, starvation, military, nations, religions, etc. It is through our problems, that we strive, re-create, and grow.

So many new agers and wishy washy people (and believe me, I have a lot of experience with em) seem to believe that mankind is fallen, out of touch, and we all need to come together to FIX it. I would disagree.

I would say if you study history, the world goes through periods, or ages. I would also say that things HAVE been getting better, in some ways.....and in some ways, they have been getting worse. Overall, this is called evolution, one step forward, two steps back (or so it seems), but gradually getting from one place to the the next, so on and so on.

Please don't read my words and think I am suggesting we do NOTHING. Quite the opposite. Our days should be FILLED with the persistent effort to IMPROVE ourselves and our environment the BEST WE CAN.

What I'm saying instead, is that extremism is good, neither for YOU, nor for ME. Do YOUR part......and if you want to help open peoples eyes to the troubles of the world, go for it!

But for the sake of us all, forsake extremism, be gentle, and learn to LOVE mankind, in ALL of its flaws.....we ARE perfect if you would just open your eyes and appreciate US, and OUR world, with our flaws and ALL.

Everybody wants to point out all the world's problems, as if they are something NEW. They are not. Mankind has been with the same problems throughout our entire 200,000+ years of history, especially the past 6,000 years since we've had civilization (so its called). Some of the worse people to walk this planet have been ones who wanted to ERADICATE evil (Hitler), and in the process, subjected the world to an even greater evil than what already existed. To the best you can, life wisely, and make a genuine effort to improve YOUR life, and the rest will fall into place

I see a complete hypocrite using all the resources they claim to hate so much so they can consolidate power in their favor.

I see another poorly thought out strategy of trying to divert our attention so they a small group can run rough shot over the world.

I see a group of cyber radicals that have an agenda just as evil, unethical, no morals, and proven to have no integrity.

I see I just wasted 6 minutes and 42 seconds of my life watching a bunch of BS.

The world is perfect as it is. Without corruption, who could understand purity? Without pain and suffering, who would appreciate pleasure and good health. Just pick a side, the one you prefer for yourself, and dwell there until you get bored or had enough, then there's always the other side available to try "new things".

I've got to say, the sheer diversity of people and professional backgrounds at ATS never ceases to amaze me. Daily, sometimes.

It's interesting to hear your take on things as someone with direct working experience with the 3rd world and lower for what the people living there know it as. That, as opposed to the people ruling and running the places, of course. Greed...Yes, that would be the common factor, I think. How much is enough? How many lifetime's worth of money is plenty before exploiting people to get more isn't necessary or can be justified? Profit has never been evil ...but even something as benign as chocolate chip cookies can be taken TOO far to become near terminal in effect, eh?

I'm really struggling to choose the path I want to take, to be honest. I'm certainly 100% committed to the University path right now. That isn't the question ..but I'm at a cross roads in that I'm at Community College level, getting general education out within a transfer degree that moves into the State University without paying the rates for those basic classes. The end result is another semester or so where I can still "explore" and not have to commit entirely to a major. After next fall, I'll have to decide and it won't really be flexible after that moment. Now though?

Well.. I started Political Science minded...but realize I'm going to have to sell my Soul to succeed in the way I want there. GIS/Geography to help break things down for others to see the problems? Quite possible... Journalism with a specialist focus? Another possibility. Quite a few options that CAN all lead to a place of bringing change ..but which is most effective with the least personal sacrifice of values and morality along the way? Oh ..life is never simple, is it? Change is even more complex beyond the bumper stickers.

The first change you need to take is the change within.

I have stopped buying products from corporations that contribute evil in the world and started growing fruits and vegetables where I can. I'm also working on a small windmill turbine to be less dependant on the grid.
I try to make people aware of harmfull companies and why they should care about it.

Educate yourself first and then educate others.
Do not use the Jehova's witness aproach, people will come to you when they are ready.

The last thing you can do is download the An0nym0us Care package here

I saw they are also working on an independant news site to oppose the existing media.

A thought provoking film, alas who are we to upset the scales of such power?
To challenge such a power would mean to go up against the most advanced technological military powers on the planet, all being paid black budget style-could anon summon hidden trillions of dollars into their fight?
The black budgie world has been using trillions for decades.
For what,we know not,but such subterfuge is not for nought I'll wager.

Mayhap something is afoot, that we the people have no idea of...

We shall never know,is my guess.

And thats the prob with anon IMO-by the nature of being anon, you could be infiltrated by any group at any time for certain agendas.

Yes all for your viewing please and owned by big fashion industry, a part of the problem, who cares though right, something good to look at. You all who stared this are a driving force representing some of the things WE can all change easily. Don't look at it and it will not be developed and people will not be exploited.

"We exploited these girls," admits Hobson. The drugs, adds Hobson, "brought a certain look." So the industry turned the other cheek.

a Victoria's Secret model. There was a Karen Mulder doll, made by Hasbro. Mulder dated a racecar driver, she dated Prince Albert II of Monaco, she dated a real-estate developer named Jean-Yves Le Fur. They broke up, but it was still Le Fur who picked her up off the floor of her Paris apartment and called the ambulance in the winter of 2002, after Mulder attempted suicide by overdosing on pain pills.

Corruption and Greed.

I completely agree with your post. So, what we need is for humans to return to christian values - no the "christian values" our politicians pretend to display.

But, with fukushima spewing enough radiation to end the world as we know it, with people not willing to put down their poison pills from BIG PHarma, with Big Pharma off-loading their questionable and guinea-pig drugs on third world countries, with Monsanto selling their poison GMO food to the world and now protected from legal suits, with the UN making things worse in every country they "intervene" in , with WW3 being plotted as we speak......

I really think it's over. Sadly.

I didn't even mention the drug cartels run by the people who say they are trying to protect us from them, and just forget the fiat money thing.

I have looked and looked at the problem the whole of the problem and at the bottom is PEOPLE. Not just the rich not just the top 1%.

No one is going to change or give up something, the choices we each make drives all corporations and divines where the money flows.

I came to a conclusion...humans stink...they will not change. The only answers are if there is the one who said, "vengeance is mine saith the Lord. The other is if all of us die and another species comes to power.

Humans will never lead Humans to good and the average person will never see that when they do something there is consequences beyond their moments pleasure. If most had the opportunity they would gladly slide into the position of one of the top 1% and gladly carry on their disgusting pursuits, ruining people, corrupting innocents, destroying nature for power, and comfort and fun times.
