Hello mods/admins. I was browsing the site on my Iphone and when I opened a thread my browser was redirected and then the app store on my phone was opened without my having clicked any links. It is very apparent that you have sold out to the corporate alien illuminati. For shame.

Just wondering where I'm supposed to lodge a complaint about annoying ads, I seem to recall that there was a thread or correct procedure for this. Problem is I'm not quite clear how I would report it since I have no idea what ad triggered the thing, or how.

Make a shortcut to anything other than the front page. Seems most sneaky ads are placed there.

But they have bills to pay too. Give them your support by intentionally clicking on an ad now and then. Being forced to click an ad is underhanded IMO.

ats should have a "Donate" button and have zero ads. It's strange reading a thread about corrupt corporations then seeing a ad about McDonald's or whatever...

Ah...the only way to get to the app store from Safari within Iphone, is to click a link. I have an Iphone 4S and it happens constantly on websites that I visit.

Also, I don't think the ad server knows you are on mobile unless actually using the mobile version of ATS, so it would have no way of serving you "apps" as opposed to links to product websites.

But if you'd like to lodge it in the proper thread, I'm sure it will be looked into.

But odds are, you accidentally touched something.

The ads are actually based on page views, not links clicked.

It's happened to a couple of us. I've responded on a couple of other threads about this. It only happens from ats, adtracking is the first reroute, then it opens the app store to "candy crush saga" game, if you don't hit the back button fast enough. Some of us have also at times been rerouted from adtracking to various soft porn sites (only from iPhone)

My laptop isn't as "pure" as my phone, yet it only happens from the phone (which is the one object in the house that has never browsed porn).

That candy crush saga is all over Facebook too, so that might be another connection as to why this is happening.
Adtracking is always the first reroute, and you don't need to click a link. Sometimes you'll just be reading a thread, and it suddenly just takes you elsewhere.....

Yep... happened to me a few times the past week. Android phone.

And here's the thing. I don't surf the regular site from my phone, I use the mobile ATS site. BUT... when a thread contains an image that is vital, I will goto the regular site to see the image. And that's when it happens...BAM! Google Play is opening and the phone just about locks up.

Very frustrating!!!!

Still not sure how the add stuff works, but I do know, I'm about to order a scooter from the site that keeps popping up on the pages.

As for the phone app popups, they are definitely there. Click a thread on a mobile device and BAM the address bar starts doing the add shuffle. The adds seem to take over the entire phone screen with no X to close it. On a tablet, it sticks very closely to the right hand side. Every now and then it'll trigger the address bar add shuffle. Only been happening within the last month's time.

Doesn't bother me though. Whatever you guys need to do to pay the bills, I'm sure we all will understand.

Bacon bacon bacon...just trying to get the bacon adds back. They looked delicious.

i get random pop-ups here on ats as well i'm using a laptop though not iphone for example the current pop up:
gun grabbers hate this (text) with creepy ass picture of obama with his eyes whited out,
"e cigarette exposed",
"weird food kills blood pressure",
who's been arressted in fresno?.i take the last one as a threat i live near fresno what's that
supposed to mean "who's been arrested in fresno"
haha
but sometimes the pop up is just netflix so not always so stalker-ish

I had the same annoyance but I found a renedy:
Turn off _javascript to avoid the redirects.

I constantly get sent to this adtrack.com website when I come here on iPhone, then the App Store pops up. It's as bad as the pop-up sound ads on the new topics page

That is exactly what happened. I'll post it in the proper thread. Normally I would think that I accidentally clicked something but after clicking the link I was holding my phone on the edge my sticky fingers nowhere near the screen.

if you're on an iphone/ipod touch/ipad and it's jailbroken just hop load up Cydia and install noscript or adblock
it will give you the option to manually toggle ads on/off so if you want to see an add you have the power to see it or not. Not the site forcing anything on ya

Was sitting on recent posts with my iphone and it suddenly redirected through adtrack then the itunes store. No buttons pressed.
