I have seen advertising on ATS like the one where the woman says she earns $200 a week or whatever working from home.

There income never seem to rise even after a whole year.

Are people really sucked into this form of advertising or is at aimed at those on this site because they are gullible to misinformation?

It just that from an outsiders point of view, there seems to be a lot of weirdness here that I suspect once your into it, you cannot see it. The same way alcoholics don't know they are an alcoholic but everyone else who doesn't drink the way they do, can see it so obviously.

Advertising on ATS is often generated by user searches off site.
It is often tailored specifically to the user,
And their own, interests and er' gullibility.

Hello there and welcome. Well the way I look at it is like this. There is Gold, then there is Fool's Gold, it's up to you which one you choose to believe or which one you choose to present. Looking forward to seeing you on the boards.

Some people are just so desperate they are willing to try anything!
GOOD jobs don't actually need to be advertised

I'm going to get a lot of flak for this, but one of the best jobs is the Army. I recently joined and signed a contract for 3 1/2 years, and with my specialty I will be able to get any job that has to do with chemicals. They even set you up when you get out when looking for a job. Pretty cool. The starting pay is 60,000 a year. But anyways, ATS can become slightly addicting, and make you paranoid. There's a lot of users on here that'll take the simplest thing and swear up and down it was a cover up or something. It's not bad to be a part of it, but don't let it consume you

In the uk the army is laying off the full timers and advertising on the tv for part timers! This way they only pay you while you pull the trigger.

Well Im just glad they're not doing that here. I was going to do the reserves, but I'd get a drastic pay decrease so I decided to do active duty. I wish I was in Israel so I could be fighting for them, but at least we're allies with them for now

Is it that big of a deal? It doesn't show that you are a moderator or anything. Also it is just a website so ease up. Why so serious?

Also he made 26 posts. So if it's that big a deal the mods can just move it

Very good question. And I haven't a clue. Also what do the W and the K stand for with your post, flag, and star count

Complicated

W = Wats. Is calculated by doing some funny number crunching with your flag/star/post count. You'll notice some peeps have silver or gold frame around their post, its based on there W score.
K = Karma. I think thats based on the star count.

I don't believe that anyone can star an Intro thread.

Op-- I thought it was funny to see a work from home ad on this thread (possibly my first ad like that?) But, my ad says I can earn $486 a day!! I'm gonna be rich!

I do think that some ads are relevant to the content of the thread itself but I usually see ads for goods/services that I've actively looked into online. Damn that Amazon.
