Taklamakan is also (or more?) correct, yes.

Some geographers and ecologists prefer to regard the western area of the Gobi region (as defined above): the basin of the Tarim in Xinjiang and the desert basin of Lop Nor and Hami (Kumul), as forming a separate and independent desert, called the Taklamakan Desert.

Where and when?

A modern day coin from the area

A relic found not far away.

It has to do with the origin of one of the early progenitors of the Bulgarians--from dream of one of the progenitors.

I am guessing that it is graffiti from the inside of one of the pyramids...if I was to hazard further I would say that it is the 'Craftsman Gang' one...important because it indicates that the workers were 'freemen' not slaves...

...which upon checking would make it a tomb, but not necessarily a pyramid

Can't find a picture though...so I will keep to a guess.

I can say that the graffiti is NOT from the inside of one of the pyramids but you are warm
