Just theorizing....it all depends on when and where in LA it would happen. LA is massive and there are parts where 31k seems plausible (direct causalities; not exposed numbers of fallout). It would also have to be based on the size of the device. A Hiroshima sized device would probably yield about that many causalities. A modern device....yes you are absolutely correct and it wouldn't matter where in the area it occurred.

It is interesting that they say 31,000 will be killed. The bomb dropped on Hiroshima, called "Fat Man," had a blast yield of 16 kilotons, and it caused the initial deaths of more than the projected kill rate of the supposed LA detonation. Most modern nuclear weapons are much larger in yield, which, if this was actually going to happen, would give clues as to the bomb's origin. It would most likely not be from a modern nuclear arsenal, at least not in my opinion. Another thing to remember is that an air-dropped nuclear weapon is going to cause more damage than a nuclear bomb exploded at ground level, say from inside a building or vehicle.

LA also has a population of over 3 million people, which should be noted. So in my opinion, for a nuclear device to be detonated in downtown LA which causes approximately 31,000 casualties, it would be quite a small device. It would basically be a suitcase nuke, as they are often known, which are tactical nuclear weapons that have only been produced in 3 countries around the world. Those three countries are the US, Russia, and Israel. The US and the USSR had them long before Israel, and it has been known for a while that there were USSR tactical nuclear devices that went missing at the end of the Cold War.

Something else that makes me think this is what we would be dealing with is the fact that a typical suitcase nuke has a blast yield of 5-8 kilotons, which surprisingly would probably cause about the same amount of casualties projected on this FB page. Now even though this may seem scary, all it would take is for someone to do their homework to figure out the information I just shared with ATS, and use that information in creating this fake threat to make it seem more realistic to anyone who knows the details of nuclear weapons and explosions. But this definitely does not mean the attack is for sure a hoax, or potentially real. It could be either. The good news in my opinion is that the majority of people who are capable of carrying out such an attack would not advertise the fact beforehand.

Doing so could cause many to evacuate the city altogether, which would work against the terrorist's objective, which would be to cause as much damage as possible. This does not prove anything one way or the other, but it is something to be considered. There are some other interesting things I have noticed about the information contained within the FB page, although I failed to include that information and my thoughts in this post mainly because I would like more time to double-check some things, and to pull up some information that I do not know offhand. If I decide the info is worth posting I will create another post in this thread, or I may just update this post, depending on how much I have to say. If anyone has any questions they would like to ask me, as always you may message me.

Though I'm not buying into this anyhow, I am leery of any planned "drills" these days. I'm sure the majority go off without a hitch, but over the past 12 years, several big-news attack events have coincided with drills simulating what then happened. Rogue black ops? Foreign moles using the set stage? Coincidence? Who knows.

Regardless...if that website is reporting on a page that is up...it isn't so hard to verify whether the reporting is reliable, is it? Reading the OP, it sounds like they reported that a facebook page is predicting that. It would be like calling me an "unreliable source" if I pointed at a bucket of golf balls 2 feet away from you and said, "look, there's a bucket of golf balls there." what kind of reputation of reliability do you really need for something like that?

Yup...the dark knight rises shooting was predicted by an ATS user...who then made another thread drawing attention to the accurate prediction...and I don't pay attention to that sort of # really.

I'd hate to burst your bubble, but, FB IS monitored.........I don't get on it anymore, due to different reasons, none the less, it is. I'm not going to say how I got that information, if you don't believe me, oh well, I really don't care, doesn't take back the fact that people should not put stuff out on a site like that.

I live in Los Angeles I moved here a year ago from Hawaii some people there in Hawaii believe the continental United States will get nuked soon. In 2012 James het field (from Metallica ) and Steven Tyler (from aero smith moved to the island I lived on I kinda figured maybe there movin here cause something's gonna happen in the United States.

Yeah I had that thought that Los Angeles is probably safe cause of the elites and Hollywood but then again it is possible that la can still get nuked. The biggest problem I have from dying by a nuke is that there's no way to fight it at least if there was a massive invasion or government take over scenario even though there's a big chance your gonna die you still have a chance of gettin a few of them in the process with a nuke there is no fight its just death
